I'm a huge reader to the Washington Post for many reasons.. my favorite of which is their talented writers who write with great wit and charm. Here's a great read about the current congress.. being haled as one of the worst in the history of the U.S. Viva La Revolution! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-reasons-why-this-is-the-worst-congress-ever/
It's only the beginning Duke, with the passing of Citizens United, and Karl Roves mission to make this a one party country it will get worse, and then it will get worse.....
I would argue it is a great congress. The less legislation that is passed, the better. This is a hit job piece by a leftist, which the washington post is full of. The only fault in the article on the dems was not passing a budget.
People like their representatives.....just not everybody elses Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Because the vast majority of people are highly uneducated about their representatives. Add that to a lot of people not standing philosophically for anything and only wanting legislation that helps them and you have a disaster occurring in our country right now.
In the interest in fair and balanced, Here is a counter story just as partisan and the OP’s. Again the Dem controlled Senate didn’t pass a budget for this country. http://lonelyconservative.com/2012/05/democrat-controlled-senate-again-fails-to-pass-a-budget/ Those of us in the middle sit here and laugh at partisans on both sides but weep for this nation.
When it comes to laws, less is more. Good job for the current congress. We need more elected officials that refuse to perpetuate the nanny state we have become.
Less laws are better, I agree. But if less laws are better then why is an unneeded law that addresses non existant vote fraud good?
"But if less laws are better then why is an unneeded law that addresses non existant vote fraud good?" I know you know this Bruce, but that law is "needed" b/c it is sexy and it garners votes by people who are emotionally swayed by those types of issues. It is election time and ALL politicians are willing to sell their darn soul to the devil to win.
If our country enforced current laws on the books there would be no need for new voter ID laws.(the laws I speak of are immigration) If illigal immigration were not so out of control I personally would not worry about voter fraud.
Not that the Republican controlled House has come up with a lot of enlightening legislation, but even if they did, it is doubtful that the Democrat controlled Senate would even allow it to be voted on. The current system is broken and far too polarized. Way too much money and too many special interest groups involved to effectively run the country.
