I don't like the cargo pockets or zippered legs. Go figure. Get what you want. He'll do anything you wish.
Like Jeff said, different strokes... I HAVE to have cargo pockets on everything, because of the "system" I employ that has a place for everything I take to the woods with me. Facemask and gloves get carried to stand in my left cargo pocket and safety rope goes in right for my harness... Never used leg zippers, and don't think I'd like them.... I do however like the normal string and pull-tab he puts on them to cinch down the pants over your boots. I also get everything unlined so I can wear them over the broadest spectrum possible over the season. When it gets cold, you can simply wear base layers.
I get leg zippers on all bibs lined or unlined.... I never wear bibs to stand I always pack them as I start wearing bibs when the temps start to drop. The leg zippers are a huge help getting dressed at my stand. I have never got leg zippers on the pants though as I always wear the pants to stand.
All of my sets have cargo pockets. I also put facemask/gloves in one side, and tend to put a beanie type hat in the other side. All of my sets are uninsulated. If someone were to only get one set, I'd recommend this route. With that said, I would really like to add a set of comfortmax lined bibs and a jacket in Fall Gray to the arsenal so I don't need to many layers on the really cold days.
Greg, you and I must be wired the same. ;-) I have to have cargo pockets on my pants as well. I too put my safety rope for my harness in the right pocket so its easy to access when I'm ready to climb. My left pocket, I have the suspension relief strap and usually my gloves. My GWW pants have the double knees and seat and with the double seat, you get pockets on the back. They are the only pockets that I can't say I use or want. Bottom line is GWW is top shelf, high quality apparel from an outstanding guy. I'll be ordering more stuff from him in the near future for next season. You really can not go wrong with GWW.
Spend $14 on the LW saddlebag, and you can alleviate this "need". I also carry an extra haul line; Tether; pruning saw; extra tab and my bow hook in the saddlebag. No need for cargo pockets. Cheaper, and less material to get caught on "stuff". But, Jeff obviously caters to all needs.
Saddlebags are way more cumbersome than cargo pockets, IMO. Been there, done that... prefer the cargo pockets.
Just for S&G's......in what way COULD the LW saddlebag be "cumbersome"? It hooks in the front. Stays behind your legs on stand; Folds underneath the upper for carrying (requiring no more "room". I'm trying to figure out any way it could be construed as "cumbersome". But, I can't. Probably been up 200X with it. Now....leaving somehting in the pants you wore, yesterday.......I can see THAT qualifying as "cumbersome".
LOL... who said anything about wearing the same pants two days in a row? I've got WAY too much clothing to have to do that... I'd just prefer not to have bags strapped onto anything when I can simply stick something down a pocket. Glad your system works for you.
Gray wolf woolens gears is unmatched. Between them using predator camo and the true quailty of garments they are unbeatable. I was sold after talking to greg/mo last season I ordered a wolfskin comfortmax hat and fell in love. This season I have a wolf skin camp shirt also. I can't wait until I have a complete set but its awsome just having one or two pieces.
