I was thinking about putting a ground blind in some crp grass on the edge of a corn field and a food plot. I was wondering if anyone had any tips. I am thinking about killing the grass or mowing it where I plan to sit in the blind so me and the boy don’t have to worry about ticks. Thanks

Good idea. Just cut a path on the back side that leads to the way you walk in. Keep that path mowed. Once you have picked a spot to set the blind up, spray that area with Round up to kill the grass. Treat all your clothing and hunting gear with Permethrin. You can even treat the inside of the blind with it.

Don't mow it from the field in,mow it from the path out. That way you can leave 3 ft of grass and only take what you need out of said wall for lanes. It will save you time brushing it in and look 1000 times better and more natural. Good luck

I also found that building a small base ( 4-6 inches) helps a lot. 2×4 and any decking is perfect
