Hello All! What a long two weeks this season has already been, ha! Opening night was T-stormed out (wish I stayed in woods, as it didn't lightning near me or rain hard but I went home to be on the safe side). Grabbed a camera card on the way out since my scent was about to be washed away. Noticed I had some nice forks being consistent at another stand, so I went there the next night. Both forks came out as usual, shot at one. Hit a branch and deflected (25 yard shot). He ended up coming right back to almost the same spot and I shot him (looked decent, tbh). Long story short, after two dogs and bumping him a couple times, determined not fatal (not a single drop of blood, fixed broadhead). Needed to give my area a rest, so I grabbed my mobile stand and bow and went down the street on public land. Went about 500 yards in. Found a scrape, beds and raining white oaks with fresh feces all within 50 yards. Setup between the 3 white oaks and an hour later this little guy gave me a 15 yard shot. My 2nd ever deer, 98 # dressed (no heart/tender loins).
Nice NH deer. Any NH buck is a good buck from my perspective. I had a good 8 ptr come in tonight, 15 min after I set up. He freshened a scrape and headed toward a thicket when I took a shot. No dice, hit a branch that went low. Found the arrow - clean miss. Another deer blew a couple times while I was looking. Back at it later this week... Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
