Yesterday's big plan was to get the snowmobiles out so we could check on the lake conditions for extracting my dad's ice house. The idea was to run back & forth on the slush ridden road so that it'll set up this week and we can pull it off with dad's tractor.

    It was a long day.

First, on my way to gas up the sled, I did this:

Actually, because it was downhill, that wasn't too hard to dig out. After topping off the tank, I got buried two more times.

Decided to text my dad to show him the photo and see I missed a text from him. He, my step-mom and our neighbor Colleen were going to go get Colleen's sled at her barn that hasn't been plowed to all winter. Yeah, he's txt said, "buried trying to get to the Bearcat".

My step mom & neighbor buried it twice. Dad took over and buried it one more time on the way to the barn. Got her sled, then buried his Skidoo one more time.

So I go to "Help". Bury mine 3 more times. :throw:

Finally, all the sleds are out and on the lake. By this time it was sunny and temps we in the high 20's which wasn't helping lake conditions. After a few passes on the road We decided to see how far we could get out with the Kubota.

I was actually impressed with how things we going on the 7/8 miles ice road, until the last 60 yards. Tractor busted through the top layer of ice. 15 minutes of shoveling and bucket work and I'm free. Try to clean the area up a bit, stuck again. Another 35 minutes.

Got out, brought the Kubota back. Made a few passes with the sleds. My dad stopped to talk with another neighbor that was taking his small house off the lake. I went home to change socks and jeans since I was soaked. 20 min and the other 2 sleds aren't back yet. So I head out to find that Colleen had buried her Bearcat in the slush on the lake. Dad was right behind her and slowed down. He was also buried again. Got it free to only get stuck one more time.

Yup. It was one of those days. 3 snowmobiles stuck 13 times and the tractor twice. I'm pretty stinking sore this morning!

Too bad todays 40* temps aren't going to help the lake any.

Damn we have a ton of snow...

That is crazy. We have a lot of snow down here for us but I have never gotten a sled stuck like that. Let's hope I never do!
