Nothin wrong with that! PAy attention, learn as much as you can, and never ever forget safety, even if its "uncool" lol. You dont want to tell someones wife and kids or parent that you messed up and killed their father/husband/son, and you sure as heck dont want someone else telling yours the same. Should be a great job and opportunity!
Congrats on the job. I have been considering getting my underground mining certification and trying to get a job as well in a mine. Hard job though, and the family are strongly against me doing it.
i hear ya! i work with my dad and grandpa so they didnt want me leaving them to go work somwhere else ether. mom was scared to death i will gut buried alive but after i told her all the safety stuff they have she was a little better. and the fact that my cusin is a MSHA inspector helped lol but the benifits are awesome and its good money.
Mining is a good job... Can't complain, it's treated me pretty good, but that's the big thing around my neck of the woods. Congrats and be safe!
