It was raining out, I don't usually shoot out the back door! They are a McKenzie caribou and bedded buck. There's a mountain goat off to the side and a black bear but I don't think you can see them from that angle. Her new bow should be here Monday so I'll post up picks when I get her shooting out of the right, I mean "correct" eye with her LH Razor Edge. I know it sucks to be me but none of you guys would do it so I had to step up to the plate and take one for the team.
Those are great little bows, I'm thinking about getting one for a Bowfishing rig. Good luck to her with the deer hunt.
Thats awesome Kodiac great pics to, bet she loves the bow. and for having a bow press in your living room
Yeah, it used to be out in the shed but it was too much of a PITA to go out there in the cold and dark in the middle of winter to work on someone's bow so I brought it in. It just never made it back out to the shed... One of these days I'll build a shop.
Well I kinda figured they were targets but then I thought...this is Kodiak we are talking about so who knows? I better ask just to make sure:d
:d :d :d I have had a nice P&Y buck out there while I was shooting once and had a brown bear tear up a deer and goat target out there too but never during the season. Go figure!
This just in: I'll have Josy back here on the 7th to shoot with it and see how she does LH. In the meantime, I'm going to run it through my friend's Hooter Shooter tomorrow night and see how it does. It's a pretty amazing little bow. I've got it set for her at 25.5" and 36# right now but the darn thing max's out at 64#!!! I may have to dig out my chronograph for tomorrow's session with the shooting machine.
Kodiak, are you gonna change the site on it? have had a lot of problems with the one that came with the one i picked up...grrrrrrrrr looks like you already did
Yeah, I got rid of the POS accessories that came with it and used ones that I had off a Diamond RaptureLite package from years ago. Cheap plastic and cold weather don't go together up here. I can't believe that BowTech/Diamond would even market a rest as horrible as that thing is that came with the Razor Edge. They are really doing themselves and their reputation a discredit there.
couldnt agree more! sucks now cause she's sighted in and doesnt really wanna set new pins and a rest before the season..... for sure will keep the rest, each day that passes counts as one against that damn site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya, it does kinda suck... at least the new ones come with a hostage, the old edges came with a two prong rest that REALLY sucked... i swapped my sons pronger off for a biscuit, it was a definite upgrade for him... he's also getting a new site for his as well this year, but nothing terribly expensive.... the edge bows are great shooting rigs (and pretty darn quick too once dialed up to their full poundage and draw length)... like you i just with they'd outfit it a little better... one thing I do like about the mission menace is that mathews has given you a couple of options on the kit that comes with it... but i still think the edge is a better all-around bow... just has low grade crap bolted to it...
You get what you pay for I guess. thing is I wouldn't give a nickle for that Hostage rest. I can't believe how much it flexed around even when locked in. Then there's the fact that the first time you had to go brush busting through some alders here, it'd be busted. Even the most basic Biscuit was a huge upgrade here and it's a rest that came off an old Diamond package. I don't know why they ever switched.
I just got bare shafts and fletched shafts using the same holes at 20 yards out of the Hooter Shooter. Now if she misses we know there's only one person to blame... me!
"Now if she misses we know there's only one person to blame... me!" You learn fast grasshopper. Thanks man, you made my day! I look forward to meeting Josy in Colorado.
Here she is shooting it last week all decked out in her new River's West outfit. Now if I could just get her to loosen up on that grip!...
