Got the call I was waiting on for a few months now....My mount is done so I hope to be picking it up here real soon..ill get some pics up when i get him home..
Congrats. I'm still waiting on my call for my euro mount. I can't wait. My wait has only been just under two months, I can't imagine how anxious you are.
I don't think I've ever got a mount back much under a year. I am still waiting on a Bear mount from 2 years ago. I got a call yesterday it will be ready to pick up in less than 2 weeks. I'll be looking for your pics! Congrats!! Dan
Congrats and I hope the mount brings back all the great memories for you! I never knew bears took so long until I took mine in last year. JEEZ! You figure you get 30 years enjoyment out of them, but that is 1/15 you are giving up waiting on the thing! Apparently bear hide is hard to do, or so I am told, but man the wait is ridiculous.
Mine is just a tanned hide, not even a head stuffed rug. It isn't supposed to take 2 years, but it is supposed to take nearly 1 full year for a tanned hide. The taxi said the tanner just takes that long on bear because they are so difficult. I am ignorant so I shrugged and said, "it is what it is."
I'm no taxidermist, so I have no idea. But, My rug came back in 10 months and Jills full body mount in the same timeframe.
Just the call brought back a lot of memories! It is a Full Body mount. Not even sure where I'll put it as I already have 2 FS bear mounts. The taxi had to modify a Grizzly form for this one to fit. I'm glad it's almost done. I dread the bill! Dan
