We have some league shooting that just started up last week, and a couple shoots here in the next few weeks, need some arrows as my others are going to be used for rabbits and a pheasant hunt here next week! I need the snow to melt so I can go look for the 4 I lost last week shootin at bunnies! LOL!

I "think" I get it, now. Is the footing an insurance policy against repeated ground impact?

Sure is Jeff, the weakest point on an arrow is just behind the insert, with that said I wished I would of made my footing a half inch longer. They are 1" now and are just to the back of the insert! I had my insert shover into my arrow one to many times this year shooting at squirrels and rabbits etc... I just cut those arrows shorter, footed them and turned them into small game arrows. I liked it so much I'm going to do all my arrows this way!Gives me a bit more weight up front as well!

    Joe:

Would you mind doing a little build-along on the footings? I know I would appreciate it.

    Those are really nice Joe.
I made an "Ironman" arrow that's footed like that but I put a 3/8 collar on the nock end as well to keep the nock from flying out when hitting rock or an iron deer or pig. I used JB Weld, what did you use?

Got bored at work today, not a big basket ball fan so I spruced up my arrows a bit!

I added the pink fur tracers to the white feather tracers, pretty cool to see these fly and hit the target!
