I wasn't looking forward to the season as much this year as I had been because I was running tight on money and had to get a job. I got a job at Bass Pro in Springfield, MO which is where I go to school. I knew most of my weekends would be spent working, which is usually when i do most of my hunting, so needless to say I was bumming about missing hunting. Now I have good news. My buddy that also works at Bass pro was doing a fly tying class and one of the guys in it offered to let him and some of his buddies to hunt his land. I am pumped now. I don't have to hassle with the public land down here anymore. My buddy went out to scout it last night and saw a flock of 10 turkey and 3 basket rack bucks on the neighbor's fence line. This is just what I needed to get me pumped up for the season again. I'm going to head out tonight with the camera and binos to glass some of the fields.

More good news! We just got more ground to hunt. The guy that gave us permission is friends with a guy down the road and he wants the deer thinned on his property. The other night he counted 52 deer in his bean field. Sounds like some doe management is needed and I'm the guy to do it!
