Long time no see guys. I moved back to camp on May 1st and have had a lot of problems with our phone system and satellite internet. Oh the joys of living in the Canadian bush! With the late move up and the early fishing opener this year I haven't had much time to get out and shed hunt....Only 2 days so far. My brother Jeff and our buddy "Peppy" were up for a week and had some luck. In total, between them and the couple days I got out, we found over 100 for the week, but most were older and we left a lot of them in the bush. We did manage to find about 12-15 fresh ones, which is way down, but most of them were from 1.5-2.5 year olds. Unfortunatley, I forgot to bring the still camera, so we had to take the pics in the cabin. Enjoy!!! Peppy with the biggest dead head of the week. Peppy with a set from a decent 9 pt. We found a shed from the year before also, so we estimated him at 4.5 last fall. He actually looks a little bigger in person. My best fresh set. My biggest set. They were out there a year and had about 2-3" chewed off his right beam. I think he wintered in the same area again this year and we spent a full day looking and never found his fresh sheds. I still think they're in there, unless he's wolf crap. Here's a pic of a few finds from the week. I have no idea what my total is for the year, but I think its around 25-30 including all the junk ones I left in the bush. I'm hoping I can get out a couple more times, even though our busy season starts tomorrow. I know there's lots more out there!!!!!
Man that is awesome... I wish I could find nice bone like that... I find all dinks That match set looks pretty nice... Hopefully he isn't "wolf crap"
The matched set Is sweet there Dan!!! I was wondering where you have been, I sent you a few "good" text messages a couple weeks back. Good to see ya around, best of luck with the business this year!!
