So I got my new muddy stand today and it comes with a harness from direct outdoors. I seriously can't figure out how the leg straps work on this thing and yes I've looked at the instructions supplied as well as looked online. Any help would be great I feel like a dummy haha

If you have extra cash go out and buy an HSS harness I use the camo ultra lite...very easy on and off without the confusion.

I tried finding the harness that it came with but they don't show it on the site. Don't think I have ever seen a harness that was that tough to figure out. Good luck!

Here's the link to the manual http://www.directoutdoorproducts.com/Manuals/02-BHFA10-MAN.pdf
the problem I am having is when I do the leg straps and bring them to meet in the middle the strap with the buckle is way too long and I can only get the leg strap that doesnt have the buckle tight, hope that helps you see what I am doing wrong

Probably not what you want to hear but ALL the free harness' I've got with stands have went straight in the garbage... IMO - the primary reason they include them is because of liability only - stand companies don't want you to actually use them (not because they aren't safe to use, but because many are noisy, uncomfortable and just a general PITA to put on), they want you to buy their 'aftermarket' safety harness.

At least your finding this out now rather than the morning of your 1st hunt :-) My suggestion is to put a few bucks away each paycheck and you should have enough to buy a nice harness by the time the season rolls around...

I could never figure them out eithe but I do have a XL-HHS harness for sale $50 if you need one.

I keep those others in my truck for friends to use if they forget theirs and just let them figure it out:)

Well I want to use this harness initially for set up because it has a linesman belt with it, which I need. I would buy that harness off of you if I could fit into an XL but I am more in the medium range haha. I suppose I'm just gonna go ahead and drop some more cash on a HSS one or similar, what's money anyways ya can't take it with you haha

I like the gorilla harnesses a ton myself. I have one of their higher end ones but my buddy has their lower grade one and I still like that. Mine was $150. It's a tiny bit heavier then most but I think its worth it. I work in the oil field and they spare no expense when it comes to things like a harness and my hunting one is just like the one I use at work. Also went to a class for working at heights because they have us use a manlift and Shell requires us to be professionally trained, and I picked out this harness from what I learned in class. It's sweet. And I can step right into the thing, never gets twisted and tangled. Either way, get a good one. You can black out in less then 20 mins of hanging with a bad harness and be dead in under an hour. It's serious stuff forsure.

I agree, harnesses that come with the stands are just in the box for liability reasons. I just bought a new LW stand and I can't even figure out how to use that harness. I was playing with it and thought it was a total waste of the extra shipping weight in the box.

Go get a good harness. You'll be thankful you did. I personally use a Seat O' the Pants harness, but may be upgrading this season to either the Tree Spider or Muddy Harness.

Yeah no kidding wish I woulda bought one sooner. I was debating between the muddy harness and the ultra light but decided that the ultra light seemed to be more comfortable.
