As some of you may remember I posted a question a few weeks ago about wireless cams. Well, I made a decision and got the Stealth Cam GXW wireless. It came in the mail yesterday and this thing is way cool. It's so neat to have your phone notify you that a pic has been taken and you can view it right then. This thing is going to be addictive! Here's a test pic it sent from my house as I was testing it last night. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
It is both a blessing and a curse. Nothing like sitting in a stand and seeing a big buck walk by the stand you are not in. Enjoy and keep us posted on how you like it.
Yeah, I've read that batteries are an issue with all the wireless cams. I run rechargeables in all my cams but this one's not going to get anything but lithiums. If push comes to shove there is a solar panel available for it. We'll see. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
They sent a Sim card with the unit that is good for AT&T. I went online and there were several packages you could get. I got the 3 months for $25. Blessings.........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I could see the addiction it could cause along with frustration. I mean the majority of my pictures are the wind, birds, squirrels, etc. If it takes 500 pictures, most likely about 25ish are ones I get excited about.
What kinds do you have? I'm already looking for a second one and I'm leaning towards the Spartan go cam. I probably would have gotten the Spartan in the first place but I ran across the Stealth Cam at such a good price I couldn't pass it up. Blessings..........Pastorjim
I have 2 Spartans that I really like too. If you have a Verizon phone its hard not to go with Spartan when you can add them for $5 a month to your phone plan. With that said here are my cell cam issue. 1. When you let a normal cameras sit for a couple weeks and check pictures you have a ton of pictures to look at. With a cell cam you really find out how few times per day the deer are actually there. Lots of dead time. 2. When your not getting pictures when you think you should... it will drive you crazy trying to figure out if the camera stopped working or if nothing has been moving in front of it. 3. They are hungry. They eat lots of batteries. I ended up getting externals. That helps a lot. I only get about 1 bar of service in my areas so I would get about 600-800 pictures off of 12 AA's or maybe 1,400 pictures out of Lithium's. That's sent pictures. Once the camera doesn't have the juice to send pictures anymore it still keeps taking pictures which is nice so you don't miss anything really.
Following also.... I would like to find one that would work off Wifi (or do they ?) since I hunt in a place that has it
