New to me anyway. I was rolling in a 2000 Chevy s-10 Single cab 2WD.... Now granted that was the most maintenance free vehicle I have ever owned or will own, It was time for something more. It's '05 Dakota quad cab V8 4X4 and all the bells and whistles that I'll probably never use... lol. And while the V-6 in my s-10 would smoke the dakota in a drag race, It just don't get me in and out of where I wanna go while hauling extra people at the same time. And the little Dodge v8 isn't a slouch either, I can pull my trailer and atv very easily. So far I like it, even if it is a dodge. :p
Good lookin ride Aaron! I had a '02 Dakota for three years. It was 2wd, 318 with a Hurst 5 speed transmision...........that thing would run like a scalded ape! You thinking about putting some bigger tread on those tires when those wear out?
Good looking truck bud. I hope the front end holds up better than my Durango has. I buy ball joints by the gross :D
Funny you should mention that... when your test driving you don't really get to take it "offroad"... but anytime I get on uneven terrain, my front end makes some awful noises...?
I have the same basic truck except I have the towing package on it which includes larger tires. It's a gas hog if you have a heavy foot.... but I do love it. I'm nearing 90,000 miles on my 05 with no major repairs. I do change the oil every 3000 and all that. Had to do front ball joints a little bit ago and a couple other things that set me back about $1100... but otherwise..... good to go. You may do better on mileage as the towing package has a different rear end, wider tires and all that stuff that steals gas. I now have a cap on the back but it's the same truck. Good ride. I sincerely doubt your S10 V6 would smoke the Dodge.
How much bigger of a tire can be had without rubbing? What size is on yours? I have 265/65-17, And thats stock... they come pretty close when turning. When I replace mine I want the largest A/T tires I can get without rubbing issues... As far as the drag race.... lol. My little s-10 would run a 10.12 in a 1/8 mile track, I've never seen another stock s-10 do that. It didnt weigh anything it was single cab, shortbed, 2wd. And it didn't have the "drive by wire" crap. I'll find out soon enough with the dakota. :D
My bad.... they just looked narrower than mine when they are in effect on 17 inch wheels while I have 16. I've got 265//70-16
