Went back to Grand Forks this afternoon and acquired my glock. While the US postal took the day off... Spee Dee Delivery didn't !! The Glock was waiting for me when I got to the pawn shop. First we had to stop at Scheels so I could burn up a $25 dollar gift card. Meant another box of .40 cal.... Winchester 180gr. JHP. Up to 400 rounds now. Once at the pawn shop... the paper work went good. 20 minutes later we walked out. I wanted to head home to shoot it but the wife had other plans. Since I weaseled out the last time... I figured I better not this time. That shot the rest of the afternoon. Looks like I will be installing linoleum in the very near future. Tomorrow is the big day at dinner break. Really looking forward to shooting it. I really like the BlawkHawk serpa holster as it fits the glock very nice. After lugging the 45 around with a big old leather holster... it is nice to have a lighter rig now and not a heavy/cumbersome rig. Really going to like for all the tromping I do. Here are some cruddy cell phone pics of the Glock... I'll get some better ones later. Tim
Very nice buddy. You might even be able to hit something with that bad boy! lol Now you know I can't let this go without commenting on your little snow man blanky.. I know I know it's he spare bedroom... J/k my friend. Congrats.
Cool gun Tim. Is it a Glock 27? Also, does your Serpa holster have a hood or is it just a single finger release like pictured below?
The Black Hawk Serpa holster is not for concealed carry. It's a hard plastic holster and you have to be careful with them. The can be hell on a gun.
According to BlackHawk... they are calling it a concealment holster. It is arguable no doubt. With a jacket or untucked shirt you can't argue it. It does conceal from sight. I wear camo bibs for hunting, shed hunting and coverall bibs for work. I will wear it under them attached to my belt so it isn't in sight. I can still get to it fast and reholster easy. For summer/warm weather... no and would agree with you. There are better options for a concealment holsters no doubt with just concealment in mind. I didn't buy it just for concealment. It is a Carbon-Fiber Composite holster. I have heard good things about the holster when it comes to holster wear. I let you know in a year or so when I find out for myself. What I really like about the holster... 1. It is not flimsey. 2. It will keep my glock secure. 3. Love the trigger release when drawing it. 4. No dumb arsed strap to unlatch or latch in keeping a pistol secure. 4. It is light weight . 5. Keeps the pistol tight to my body so I can wear my bibs over it. 6. Keeps the pistol higher so it is comfortable to sit with or drive. 7. My glock fits it very nice. 8. I like a belt holster and so far I've yet to find something I don't like about the BlackHawk. Course it is only day two though. Take it for what it is worth. Tim
My nighty night blanky consists of bunnies, butterflies and rainbows. It is a snowman table cloth in the kitchen... dammit !!! The wife is into seasonal decorations. Tim
Tim, I have a Blackhawk Serpa holster and have holstered my Glock thousands of times in the past several months. My gun looks, feels, and shoots perfect.
Nice lookin gun! I thought about buying the Blackhawk Serpa holster, but havent decided yet. I bought one of the cheap wally world holsters for the time being.
I know, Ive done a bit of research already. My M&P came with a hard plastic(theres a special name for it that eludes me right now). Its ok, but not concealable, nice fit though, I believe its made by bladetech. Ive heard good things about the Crossbreed holsters, I think thats what Im going to go with. Unfortunately it takes 4-6 weeks to get them cause they are made by hand in a small shop. Thats ok, I guess, cause it takes 45 days(BS, I know*) to get your concealed carry permit here anyway. *The next county over, you can get it in 20 mins after walking into the office.
