Timberland makes a great boot in thay style. A little lighter in color but they might have other options. I love mine. We have to wear pull up boots at work cuz the chemicals melt the laces. Here even in the cold they are amazing. not sure the model but they were around $225, but i know where I bought them over charges (small town, only option). I had a pair of rockys that were great also and closer to $150, but comfort wise ill take the timbs over them for sure.

I have a pair of Tony Lama steel toes that I wear everyday. They are the most comfortable boots I have bought. I work construction all day in them, then wear them out at night :tu: I think they were like $220

Either save it or the boots. You can never go wrong with a good pair of boots.

I dont think i need steel toe boots but its an option. They could be useful after i get out and start working. I need to find some places and try some boots on now.

I guy worrying about what to do with $100 doesn't need to be spending it on $300 boots. Really... use it wisely. The girl probably likes pizza... you just saved $75 dollars and you'll still get laid.

I never said i was going to spend $300 on boots. I want and need a nice pair so i will eventually get them. If it runs me a little over 100 thats fine and it will be money well spent.

You're a lost cost. You really don't need the boots... they're just wants. Save the money...start now...in 30 years you'll be a happy man.

No im not lost at all. I know the difference between wants and needs. I do NEED new boots to work unless you think its alright to walk into a fire house with my tennis shoes or my camo hunting boots. So i need them. It would be a good investment also.

So would a gross of condoms. We don't want these genes to survive. LOL I'm just busting your sac. I couldn't help myself. LOL Good boots are definitely not a toy. Everyone should have them. I have a more of them than I should. I've got a couple pairs of Danners and maybe 3 pairs of Rockys, a couple pairs of Simms wading boots and one pair of some yuppie brand hikers. I also own about 5 pairs of sneekers. LOL Now that's obsessive. And did I mention all the things like Rockports and all that??

My hunting boots are rockys and I really like them. They are comfy for the long walks in on public land. But i dont have near as many as you do i have maybe 5 pairs all together thats from sandals up to boots.

I currently have Wolverines, Ariats, and Tony Lamas. I have beat the hell out of the Wolverines and they are still going, the Ariats just rub my heel enough that I can't wear them. My Tony Lamas are the best fit for me, though. They are steel toed (awesome for construction), fit me awesome, and seem like they are going to last quite a while. I am going to buy another pair in the next week, and will most likely look at TL's first.

Ive never worn steel toe boots before. Do they make your feet get hot faster? I think they would be a good think to have. As far as water proofing is it needed?

I think they do make them get hot a little faster, but I don't notice it at all. They do make your feet get colder faster in the winter, but with thicker socks I never have a problem with them. The benefits far outweigh the downsides. As far as the waterproofing, I do think it's convenient to have but it's not a deal breaker for me. I always wear the waterproofing off on my boots anyways, especially my work boots. If the boots you are looking for are for work, I don't think it will be a big deal either way. If they are for wearing out and general wear, I would probably get it. Nothing worse than walking through morning dew and having damp socks and boots afterwards.
