Went to a large county park today that doesn't allow hunting. I had been wanting to shed hunt this place for a while now, and I finally decided today is the day. Walked through a foot of snow for about 5 hours and finally found a shed at the very end. Saw a ton of sign though in some very thick cover. I have a good feeling that there are some more but they are just under the foot of snow. I will be going back in a few weeks once it is close to gone. It was a good day though and I am pooped from the walk. Would I do it again though??? In a heart beat!!!
nice work, yes it is a great workout walking through deep snow, and hard to find sheds. you should be in for finding alot more once you return. snow melting fast here in northern illinois.
Same situation here in Northwest Indiana. The snow is melting fast!!! Today and tomorrow look to be awesome for getting more of it gone. It was definately rewarding finding it at the very end. The whole time I was there I was saying to myself " I know there are sheds here, there is just too much sign for there not to be". I am axious to get back there and find some more. Good luck to the rest of you guys too!
You must've been over here in Ohio and found the shed from our last good buck..... No good bucks left here anymore......
Yeah, not even a single broken tine on this monster. He must have been the king of the forest this past fall. The other bucks didn't even want to mess with him. haha I was just happy to find one after walking through the snow!!!
