I'd wait until tomorrow. There's no use in possibly trampling on the blood trail. Like already said if he's dead tonight he'll be dead tomorrow. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do you have a buddy that can recover him for you tomorrow? If not, I'd go late tonight... maybe 10 or so unless the temps are really cool.
If temps don't get out of the 40's the meat will be fine. Around here I'd be worried about coyotes and even coons, but if they're not a huge problem where you are than you're lucky. At 60 yards I'd be giving him plenty of time. But, like you I'm a confident archer at 60 yards and if all the conditions were right I'd consider slinging an arrow that far. Best of luck to you.
In his defense he did say this evening and not this afternoon. Hopefully he's dragging it out as we speak.
I'm kinda surprised no one has given him grief for a 60 yard shot! I don't care how good you are, that's a little risky IMO. Hope you found him!
That's because we've learned over the years, that as long as the person taking the shot is comfortable in thier abilities, who are we to question them, regardless of distance, angle, intended shot placement, etc.
Yeah, guess I forgot. I need to step my game up, that's twice as far as my effective range. To the OP, i truly hope you find your deer. Good luck!
Don't take this as me being an advocate of taking long shots just to take them, but obviously some people can shoot further than others while remaining accurate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr2McOMJLgQ To the OP, hoping you find him, sucks that you had to wait so long.
