There is no setting for slow motion. When you choose the setting for record speed (fps) the choices are 30, 45 or 60. Choose 45 or 60 fps. That allows you to edit slow motion from the original recording without it being visually choppy. This is because the frame rate is high enough that the quality is not degraded when slowing down the video. Also, you'll get some really great screen grabs for stills if you want.
Using two different GoPro Hero 3 , One looking at hunter from about 8 feet away to view take away shot during the draw and after shot reactions. One will be on a chesty on hunter for possible sight line action cam shot. I have found I frequently put bow facing down after the shot and never remember to continue to follow through. Looking for other advise on camera for remote sound and interview footage to and from stand close outs. Looking at the Panasonic FZ-1000 DSLR/ Video camera big sensor and great quality footage in 4K. easily to pan and scan inside frame for 1080P product to youtube. Never have to zoom that much due to image size. Just my two cents""??
Forgot as state in the Bowhunting or Die early takes. Away try to use lighted nocks for tracking hits on aniamls and it make great action sequences.
Great thread! That black is sweet and nice test video S&S. Is there a difference in using the Hero 3 white ($200) or the silver ($300) for 2nd angle filming mostly? I have a cam on an arm for main filming, and it seems the white will do everything I need for 2nd angle...any advice?
4k recording is an issue unless you have serious computing power and can save file in a different format. 1080p and 60 fps is phenomenal playback and looks pretty dam good on your wide screen tv. Go pro makes a frame mount that is super light and can be mounted on the head strap mount that comes with the go pro which minimizes the issues with dropping the bow. Plus it looks where ever you are looking. The 3 Black has more options for camera and video record modes. The cool thing about a go pro...mount the dang thing nearly anyplace. Say an apple tree where you are certain a deer will be. Control with a remote and bam you have a second angle. Good luck and post back your video!
Here is a video from my turkey hunt in April. Used a go pro hero2 in the blind for a second angle on me shooting. Had it Mounted to a gorilla pod using the tripod mount and just wrapped it around one of the blind poles. http://youtu.be/-k0OhFhiit8 Skip to about the 7 min mark if you don't want to watch all of it.
I used the app on my phone over the weekend. Drains the batterie pretty fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did a video with the time lapse. Turned out pretty cool! Had it set to take one pic every 10 seconds. I edited it on Windows Movie Maker. I can't get rid of the Margins unless I resize every pic. It took about 2 hours to film this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k6PNzQrAk0
SticknString, If you PM me your address I will mail you my Sony Vegas Movie Studio Software. I wiped Windows off the machine it was on and installed another OS so its not running anywhere. It has the tutorial disk in it and there are plenty of YouTube Videos that tell you how to do stuff if you take the time to watch them. It pretty easy and I think your wife, from the sounds of it could learn it. All I ask in return is to see some of your videos once you get done with them. Its only collecting dust on my shelf at the moment anyhow.
I finally pieced together some footage in an experiment/trial for editing using the GoPro editing software. the video came out ok I guess..
