Alright, I know the season is a long way off, but i was wondering if anyone on here goose hunts and if so what calls do you blow and how do you like them? Any opinions on what call you would get. My price range is up too around $130.

Zink and Tim Grounds has some sweet calls. If you keep an eye out for deals you should be able to find some of their better calls for close to your price range. Everyone is different but for me the Zink "call of death" is a fairly easy call to get the hang of. You can keep it pretty deep/goosy, but yet you can go pretty high with it and get some wicked fast sequences through it. It also takes hardly any air. You can go forever without taking a breath. With the Tim Grounds calls you can obviously get that low growl, and deep goosy sound fairly easy, but the higher and fast sequences take some time to learn.. It can be done though. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TAFSNtXIMk) Again goose calls differ from person to person a lot so do not spend 130 bucks on a call unless you have blown it before.
    My two favorites
    Zink- call of death
    TG/ triple crown

Yeah my old call just plain wore out on me so i was going to upgrade. I do like the zink calls. My buddy has a money maker and i really like the sound of it. That call is a tough one to get the hang of though.

I use a custom call from a local call maker, but it was 200 bucks I do have a few zink duck calls that I like a lot so I wouldnt be afraid of using a goose call from them.

My brother and another hunter in our group both use the Call of Death and I have used a triple crown in stores, and I'm thinking about picking one up for next season. Both are awesome calls and you couldn't go wrong with either. I myself use a Death Row MOD right now, and it's gonna be hard for me to find another call to replace that one on my lanyard. The call of death is probably going to be the closest of those three to your price range. But at the end of the day, goose calls are just like bows. People can make recommendations, but you need to go try them out and see what feels best to you. If there is a cabelas near you I would go there. They have a huge variety that you can try out.

Zink is a solid company. I wouldnt put down any money on cheap $20 calls. I can tell the difference between my calls and how they sound, I can only Imagine how geese hear it.

I just got a zink... it's one of the cheap ones though. I have been waterfowl hunting twice so I'm still very much learning and not wanting to drop a lot on equipment yet.

$200 for a goose call? And people call me crazy because I pay for premium bullets. LOL $200... now that's insane. I bet all over this country there are people that buy $20 calls and kill their limit on a regular basis. Hell, goose meat isn't even that good to eat. Ducks... yes, they're tasty and good... but a goose... I don't need any and I definitely don't need a $200 call to kill a piece of shoe leather. Hell, I can sneak and peak and jump shoot a limit of geese every day without a call when they're passing through... but then, why would I do that for shoe leather.

I don't think it's about the Meat. The meat is good if you mix it with pork and make it into sausage. But i think it's more about the exoperience and the friends that you hunt with. I won't pay $200 for a call, but i believe it's just like coyote hunting. We don't eat them but it's fun
