Logan Renner was thirteen. Just a baby with a long life ahead of him. His dad is an Air Force Pilot stationed at Bentwaters Air Force Base England. Word came to us last Monday as we were getting ready for work that as Logan and his family were getting ready for church the previous day, Logan for some unknown reason, somehow discharged a pellet gun, which struck him in the temple and he was killed almost instantly. A pellet gun for crying out loud! The details are sketchy but what is an obvious tragedy has stricken his family and his extended family. I remember when they lived here in Montgomery that he and my son and a few other friends often played together. It could have been any of the boys. Our hearts cry out... "why?" I guess there are some things we will just never know or understand from our earthly perspectives but we do understand that the pain is as real as life itself. Logan's organs were harvested and his death has brought life or improved life to at least 13 others. But what a heavy load for Steve, Jenny, two sisters and a five year old brother to bear. Gal 6:2 reminds us to "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. " I do hope you all will join us in bearing this load with the Renners as God's gentle hand surrounds them and as we slowly offer them the comfort of knowing their pain, their heavy load, their fears are being shared by many friends through our prayers. We all need the love of Christ and we all need one another, especially during times like these.
Extremely tragic. A parent losing a child has to be one of the worst things that could happen in life.
Muzzy Man, that's so sad to read. I'm sure the church and community are rallying around this family. I pray they find the strength in Christ to carry on.
I read about this in the paper, and thought how sad, and then moved on to the next story. But reading about it here makes it more real somehow. My thoughts are with his friends and family
