Today I had three bucks chasing does around my stand. I got what I thought was a good 25 yard shot, arrow went completely through the deer, shaft is covered in blood, however one of my three razors is broke off? After hitting the deer it jumped, then began limping on the front leg, went about 10 yards laid down, after about 5 mintues it got up and limped off, followed a good blood trail for 100 + yards, and started to get thin, found one last pool of blood and i pulled out, to let him cool day. Where do you think I shot him? And do you think he will die? Im going back tonight to look for him again.

If you think he's "muscle hit" you should PUSH him, and make him bleed out. Once he lays down, the blood flow will slow, and he'll start to clot off, making his survival chances better. What looks like a "lot of blood" really isn't much. Hopefully you find him, but I think I'd be pushing him if I thought I had hit leg, and wanted to make sure he bled out. Gut shot completely opposite, but muscle shot needs pushed.

I agree, and unfortunately this sounds like a front leg shot, possibly a little low, if you caught the heart or lungs, he wouldn't have gone that far... take it slow and deliberate because if he's alert, he'll be watching his back trail, look off to the sides ahead as many times they'll circle themselves to watch their trail... we pushed a buck hit in the back ham by my cousin, kept jumping him til he ran out of steam and finally put a more lethal arrow in him.

I think I stuck it pretty close to the front leg, not in the leg, but the arrow went thru so hard to tell for sure. I just had two other people go with me to look for him, the blood trail ended in a smaller puddle and then nothing in each direction we looked. WE did circles around for 100+ yards looking for him laying, but no luck. Maybe I should shoot a little further back next time. What do you guys think?

I was wondering now that I missed an opportunity in this stand, am i going to be ok staying there? Are there going to be different bucks same trail, or same buck? not sure if I should move or not, especially cause this buck was hot and heavy on my doe n heat. He came running 50 yards down the hill to hit up my scent pad before I shot.
