Well, let's see, on Monday the 17th I went in to a dermatologist/skin cancer clinic to have a biopsy done on a small spot on my ear. While the doc was looking at that spot she saw another small spot on my neck below my ear. They biopsied both, and I just got a phone call. Good news: The spot on my ear was nothing to worry about. Cool. Bad news: The other spot was cancer. Good news: The type of cancer is basal cell carcinoma common and easily treatable. Bad news: I've got to go in for a MOHS procedure and get this little thing cut out of my neck on the 18th of September. I'm kind of lucky that this spot is on the left side of my neck because if it were on the right side it would be exactly where my knuckle hits when I anchor at full draw. See? There's always a bright side.
I get little things cut or froze or sliced off me all the time. I've had some cancer, some pre cancer and some of multiple gizzmos. I even had 2 removed off the white of my eye that were one on top of the other. Just about every check up at VA and my civie doctors I can point out something and they say... let me remove that. The eye things were a result they say of excessive exposure in a tropical climate. That would be Vietnam. I guess the rest are just in limbo... is it agent orange. Oh don't say that word... they don't want to hear it. Our bodies produce soe strange things. Glad you're going to live. LOL
You and my Grandfather would get along nicely... He just had a spot of cancer taken off his nose... and two other spots they are going to keep and eye on... He was in Nam... and exposed to agent orange... been fighting with the VA ever since...
Yep. Well, I'll be in Missouri anyway. If you don't have a place to be that weekend you're welcome to join us.
Cool! I really appreciate that, but I'll most likely be in my usual digs. Maybe someday though! Glad your prognosis is good. I just found out 2 days ago that I have to have a bone graft done to an upper canine next week. Ha! Sucks getting old...
Prayers sent, I'm sure you will come out fine. My Dad just had his third procedure over the last 7 years to remove skin cancer. They found a small tumor in his arm while removing the Cancer. Stay positive and stay on top of it, chances are it will sprout up again.
