Good morning. I'm a new member on the forum and I'm considering my first purchase of a compound bow. I've been doing a bit of research and I must say, there's quite a bit that goes into making your purchase. From my research so far, it seem's like the most important thing to determine first, is my draw length which I have no idea what mine is. But Cabela's has two options in my price range that I'm considering, the Diamond Archery Infinite Edge Pro and the PSE Stinger X. I'm currently leaning towards the Diamond Archery Infinite Edge Pro due to the fact that it's cheaper in price and weighs less. Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum!.
welcome. if it is your first bow maybe try an archery shop near by that lets you test different bows. the first bow I wanted I was all excited to buy it and then went and tested it and didn't like it much after all for a few reasons. Id suggest going and trying them both before making the decision if all possible, also the pro staff at the shop should help fill you with some knowledge about the equipment you're looking to get. best of luck Ripper.
Thanks. That's what plan on doing today. Cabelas near by has both in stock at there pro shop. There's isn't to many, if any dedicated archery stores.
Good news. I went to Cabelas and I decided on the Diamond Archery Infinite Edge Pro in the Mossy Oak Break Out Country camo. They determined my draw length and since I'm new to archery, we decided on starting out with 40 pounds which works for me!. My bow was ready for use before leaving the store. I'm so glad that I went into the store instead of ordering online.
I would definitely watch the big box stores. I bought my bow from bass pro shops and was having problems sighting it in so I decided to take it to a local archery only shop and the owner had to completely re set up the bow.
