Rather than hijack someone else's thread... I'll start a new one..

I've been in the market for a camcorder. I was looking at JVC and SONY until I recently have read picture quality of those HD cameras are substandard (in the sub $500 categories). I then started looking at the Canon's. Seems they are spoke about in high regards, but their price tag is a bit higher than I would like ($800-900+). Looking for some opinions. While I do love my canon EOS Rebel, I'm not sure I'm willing to pay $1000 for a camera primarily for hunting purposes. What cameras do you have, and would you have bought a better one if you're camera is in the sub $500 category with your experience?

I have two cameras I use

I have a Kodak Playsport for tracking, walking in and stand interviews and filming myself during the shot and then I use the JVC - HM450 8GB HD Flash Memory Camcorder for filming.
