Just looking for some opinions on arrows for elk. I'm shooting a bow tech insanity at around 72# draw weight . Currently shooting gold tips but I'm looking at Eastons FMJ.any thoughts or suggestions?

You can't really go wrong with either the GT's or FMJ's as they are both great quality shafts. You are going to have so much energy that you wouldn't have to go with the FMJ's for penetration and could look at the Carbon Express Blue Streaks or Reds in the 350 spine if you want to add some FPS. I've been shooting the Blue Streaks since last year just to take as much arc out of my shot as possible - especially handy when hunting out west on the ground - since a lot of time you don't get a chance to range your target and are shooting at longer yardages....

Also, along with the carbon express line they have new PTX arrows (pass thru extreme) from their pile driver line. This is an arrow designed specifically for penetration. You may want to read about those too. 350 spine also is what you will need, btw.

I had gold tips and switched to the easton FMJ. Both are good. I wanted more weight is why I changed. Both shoot well. I'm pulling 60 #. Only changed because of going Elk hunting this year. Really like the FMJ because they are smaller diameter and they pull easy when practice shooting.

My set up went from 389 to 439 in weight. Somewhere close to that. Wanted more kinetic energy. I was told anything over 400 should work for Elk.

Thanks for the input. I will have to add the blue streaks and others to my research list
