    2014 Bowtech Carbon Knight.
It has a trophy ridge quiver and whisker biscuit and extreme archery sight.

Owner claims the string broke and he had the string and the cams replaced.

Just the string and cams sound like a red flag to me.

I could get it for $400.

Worth it or avoid it all together?

I can get a 2015 with RAK for $530 brand new. With 6 carbon arrows. All set up and tuned.

If he's telling you that it blew up on him........

    I'd stay away from it.

You probably won't regret buying the new package, you could possibly regret buying the used one.

Bowtech has well documented problems with limbs blowing up, way way way more than any other company, would probably not buy one of there bow's as to this day people still have issues with them. Why take the chance when there is other good companies out there with bow's in the $500 range? You certainly aren't getting a true carbon bow for that price.

Bowtech seems to have been addressing the issues that they had with their limbs.
I have several friends that are shooting the Carbon Knight and enjoying them.

I would definitely as said, go new.

Get the new one.If the strings just "popped" then he either dry fired or theres something wrong.

Sounds like he dry fired it. Spend the extra money on the new one if it is a bow you are interested in. I have owned 3 Bowtechs in the last 3.5 years and never had an issue with any of them; other than like many manufacturers their stock strings aren't that great. Two of them I bought new, one used. Ignore the people bashing Bowtech but have never owned one.

I have never understood why some people are so concerned about the bow brand another person chooses to use.

I prefer to buy new, when it comes to bows I have noticed your not saving a whole lot of money buying used. Someone selling a year old Mathews for $200 maybe, get up to $500 or more and I don't see why you wouldn't just spend a little more and get a problem free brand new bow.
