For you guys that work on your own bows. I am looking into starting this and was wondering what some good bow presses are that wont cost me a $1000. Also would a Last Chance Archery EZ green press be any good?

I got one and love it! VERY nice press. I got mine on Ebay for $422 shipped. It works great and is made really well.

In that price range I would get the Bow Time Machine, the new model can be mounted both vertically and horizontal, plus it doubles as a draw board. It's 515 shipped.

Do you have the new one? Have any pics? I've been emailing back & forth with Jim and might go this direction instead.

Long story ...I had an X Press that I sold to local shop about about a year ago, with the intention on buying a BTM.

A friend of mine bought a used BTM with the tripod on AT( the lucky bastard) he brought it over to my place along with his bow. I was going to teach him how to tune a binary cam. While using it I told him I was going to sell my xpress and buy the BTM because I liked it that much better. So he left it here after his bow was tuned, and I been using it until he tells me he wants it back. When that happens I am emailing Jim and buying a new BTM.
I have not seen the new press that can be mounted both ways, I am not sure if it swivels or is fixed. I most likely will mount it vertically on my bench in my shop. Takes up less space and is very easy to use. I already sold my draw board also....the BTM works really well in that capacity also... To me its a no brainier. The only press I like nearly as much is the EZ deluxe that swivels...and that is close to 800...

the BTM is a steal at that 515 shipped. By all accounts Jim is a great guy to deal with and stands behind the product. I haven't heard a bad thing about him or his press.

Nice, Fitz. I went back and forth between that and the EZ Green. In the end, a sale price on the EZ green made it too hard to pass up. Either choice will serve you well.
