I highly recommend the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin. Not much to do with hunting but there's archery involved, lol. Very good reading..of course it's the book series the TV series "Game of Thrones" is based on.

Heard Meat Eater by Steven Rinella was pretty good. Going to read it for myself pretty soon.

Totally enthralling! The wait for the 6th one in 2014 has been killing me for a year now...I read through the first four and ran out of reading and had to wait on the 5th, bought it on release and blasted through it so reread all of them again, lol.

John and Chris Eberhart have a series of really good books. Lot of information on bowhunting pressured whitetails as they hunt here in Michigan.

Not bowhunting, but for outdoorsmen, you can't go wrong with Jack London. Call of the Wild, White Fang, and To Build a Fire. Well written classic stories by a classic author.

Then again, you may have already read them.

"Aggressive Whitetail Hunting" by Greg Miller, "Mapping Trophy Bucks" by Brad Herndon, "Hunting Whitetails by the Moon" by Charles Alsheimer, "Hunting Trophy Whitetails in the Real World" by Don Higgins, "A Look At Life from A Deer Stand" & "Full Draw" (novel) by Steve Chapman. These are a few of my favorites.

Just finished Sean McVeigh " becoming a world class hunter". He a Christian bow hunter and has some good videos online. Read the "meat eater" book and just bought some of Chuck Smiths books on his life and the grand slam.

Good thread. Love non fiction hunting books.

Also Greg Millers books are fantastic.

Do you want hunting books or fiction?

I highly recommend any book written by the Wensel brothers if you want a hunting book.

I really like fantasy books so anything written Brandon Sanderson, George R.R. Martin, or Patrick Rothfuss are winners for fiction.

This reminds me of when i was back in grade school.. many years ago.. Came across a book in the library that really intrigued me and ignited my desires to spend more time in the woods.... "The Tracker" by Tom Brown Jr.
I was just looking at it again just now on Amazon.. could actually read some of the book itself... Now... I need to go get the book.. to reread it this many years later.. It really had me out in the woods searching and seeking all he wrote about. The way to observe and interpret the clues/tracks we could find.. Just to see how good we could get.. If you haven't read it.. or have kids just starting out into the hunting/tracking world... Definetly a good little read..
