Im looking for some good arrows for bowhunting, i seems to usually wear out the cheap ones i buy by the time the season roles around. Im thinking of getting some easton FMJs or something tuff like that but was wondering if there are any other good arrows for a decent price that dont need everything replaced on them after a summers practice. Thanks! ( I shoot an old bow with about a 60lb draw, and yes its really slow. I will only use the arrows for practice and whitetails)

I love my FMJs!!! I shoot the 300 spines. They're slow and heavy but deadly quiet, accurate, and blow through bone easily. I don't see myself changing shafts anytime soon.

Same here with the Beman MFX Bone Collectors in 400. Run about $99 a dozen shafts only, wrap and flecth to your liking, thats half the fun.

Love my Easton FMJs, As far as hunting goes you just dont get the same penetration from a straight carbon arrow. I shoot the 400s and My bow is set up 62# 28. Youd probably be ok with the 400s.

What would be the advantage to shooting 400s vs. 300s? would the 400 have more kenetick energy? Also do you guys have issues with the fletchings falling off of the ready to go ones? would i be better off doing it myself so that they last longer.

I'd buy bare shafts and pick up some quick fletch. I've had no problems with that combination. A .300 vs .400 spine the main difference is weight measured in grains per inch and stiffness. The .300 has something to do with how much the arrow deflects when a certain weight is suspended from the middle of the shaft. I forget the weight and forgot how long of a shaft, I'm sure there's an expert on here who can better explain arrow spine. As I understand it the .300 is heavier and stiffer than the .400 spine. I pull 70 lbs at 30" and care more about penetration and a quiet arrow than i do about speed, which is why I chose the heavier option.

I have FMJ's 340's. love them. Just go to your pro shop or hop online to see what spine you need.

I would also look into muddy bloodsport aroows ( I shoot HT1). They are a little heavier arrow which is like the FMJ, I love mine so far very accurate and durable.

If your pulling 60# You would probably want to get the 400s. I shoot a 62# and the 340s were to stiff for me. Go to eastonarchery.com and type in all your bow info and itll tell you what spine you would need.

Either the FMJ, or the Axis. I shoot the Axis arrows (300 spine) and really, really like them. I get them from Ebay, cut and inserted for around $90 a dozen. I put wraps and vanes on.

I needed a stiffer spine in the blue streaks. 450 would have been ideal.

I had bad luck with the fmj and acc arrows. I'm hard on my arrows and trashed them just as easy, sometimes easier than my carbons.

I'm back to the cx maxima hunters now. Trying out the cx reds also.
