Having problems paper tuning my bowtech dstroyer 340. Have a constant tear left and have moved my ripcord rest all the way possible away from the bow (left) and still have the problem. I might add the tear is big 3-4", I can shoot my old bow and it shoots bullet holes so I don't think it's my grip. I'm a right hand shooter, D loop, caliper release shooting goldtip hunter extreme 75/95 with a draw weight of 70lb, 29" draw. Could it be my arrows or maybe my bow is not timed properly? Just had a limb blow up and had it replaced wondering if there is any else that got damaged in the explosion. Any ideas would be helpful as I'm an hour away from the nearest proshop.
I've set up and tuned a bunch of Destroyers and Invasions , i also personally have a Destroyer 350 and the new Invasion , and i have found if your set up requires a 400 spine its to weak for the overdrive cams , if you use a 340 or a 350 spine instead it tunes perfectly , they like a stiffer spine ......with that being said you need to watch the cam lean on them they may be perfect at rest but what you want to look out for is the cam lean starting to develop during the draw cycle , when your at full draw look at both your cams compaired to your shooting string and see if there is any lean , now if your limb exploded like you said you could have a bent cam or a axle .........but i have whitnessed the week spine issue many times over
If you're tearing to the left, shouldn't you move the rest to the right? The 75/95 arrows are a .340 spine and that is what you should be using for a 70 pound draw weight.
and like i said , and i know that , that is why i said he needs to go to a stiffer spine and that will be a 300 , you or anyone one esse can not go by what a chat spesifies , its hands on , i had over 75 Destroyers in my hand this past season and new exactly what the problem was after the 5th one , you can not go by the charts with that cam design .............for instance i'm shooting a Destroyer 350 and a Invasion at 58 lbs 29'' draw , that has 400 spine writen all over it well guess what it dont work , a 340 or a 350 spine is spot on , if one does not believe me call Bowtech , the cams and the overdrive are to agressive for the charts that are still out today ......end of story
