Hey everyone, Im lookin at getting my first bow and there is a guy at work selling a Golden Eagle Bow. I think its a rapter or a reaper or something along those lines. Not sure of the year but it looks pretty new. Anyone ever dealt with that brand before? He only wants $100 for it. Think its worth it? Seems to be in good condition but i kinda want a new bow but i think this will do for now.
Golden Eagle were ok bows, but unless he has really nice accessories on it, its not worth $100 IMO. Check Ebay or archery talk classifieds, you can probably buy one for much less.
Well its not that its the bow i want. I would much rather have a new bear or mathews but i am just keeping my options open for a possible good deal. Do you think i should talk him down or just not even worry about it?
If you don't want it, don't buy it. If it needs a string/cables, you will have WAY more in than its worth.
Yeah thats probly what ill end up doin. The more i look up the bows the more bad i find so yeah im probly gonna go pick me up a mathews or a bear. Just depends on how it feels.
I saw some new Bear bows on sale last night for $220 or so. 280-290 fps. I bought my old Reflex bow in 2004 for like $150 off E-bay. I used it for 6 years or so. I could point it and kill anything within 30 yards or so. That is all you need. Don't get caught up with the brand name or glitz and glitter. Point, shoot, and kill is all you need.
