Have shot Gold tips since the late 90's, Shot the xt's early on then switched to the pro's in 2003. Never looked back three things I like about them, consistency from arrow to arrow, strong and accurate!
I have hit many pieces of cut wood in my wood pile. I flex them and check the shaft each time. I have had only one crush at the nock.
I too have shot Gold Tips since I started bowhunting and I love them! Shooting Kinetic XT's this year...they're great! "Toughest arrow you'll ever shoot" -www.goldtip.com DAMN STRAIGHT!!! lol
I shoot 7595 Pro Hunters and Velocity Pro 300s. I hate to admit it, but over the years I've chiseled my fair share of Gold Tips out of trees and 6 x 6 target posts. I have yet to see one of my arrow shafts damaged by the impact with wood. Now I've damaged a few chiseling them out and damaged a few pulling on them wrong, but to the best of my knowledge a straight impact with wood has never damaged a shaft. Still, look them over carefully, especially at the ends, for small cracks. Flex/bend them while feeling and listening for anything out of the ordinary. If you're not sure then toss them.
