I was thinking about going with gold tip arrows xt hunter.....i know theres a chart on gold tip website and i went by it and it tells me that i shold shoot 7595's....but this website that i found tells it a little diferent...shafts are uncompromising, stringent, rigorous and are the toughest arrows you'll ever shoot. These can be used with bows 55-75 lbs. These arrows weigh 8.2 grains per inch and have a Spine Deflection of .400. So i'm wondering if this is correct before i buy some
This is what I use when buying Gold Tip http://www.basinarcheryshop.com/gold-tip-shaft-selector-chart
Gold Tip Selection Just go the websire www.goldtip.com and plug your bow and arrow information into the chart. 5575 does not mean you can shoot the arrow from 55-75 #, It depends on the length of the arrow. If you need help call Gold Tip at 801-229-1666 and someone can help you make sure you get into the right shaft
I shoot 5575. I think you would be fine with them unless you have some crazy long draw length. I don't believe that would be the case looking at your profile pic. I also use 7595, but only when I use uncut shafts with bullheads. Mathews Heli-M 28" 64 Lbs.
ya I'm stuck right between the two arrows by the chart...I my draw length is 29" and i shoot right around 62 pounds what do you think i would wanna get for an arrow...I know i was thinking about droping my draw weight to 60 pounds and i know what arrow to get then but at 62 pounds and that draw length what do you think?
Knowing your draw weight and length helps a lot. Out of a Z7 set at 62#/29", the 5575's should be okay for your setup, especially if you stick with a 100 grain point. I started with 5575s out of my 70# Drenalin but they were a little underspined. I switched to 7595's, which were a tad too stiff, but I added 2 50 grain weights behind a 125 grain point and they were perfect.
The point weight will make a difference if you are online between the 5575 and the 7595. I shoot the 7595 at 29 1/2 in arrow lengthwith a 100 grain point, and the FOC is at 10%. At 65lbs and 324 fps the 7595group better that the 5575. I think it is better to be a little too stiff thannot stiff enough. And I am talking about arrows........LOL
If you're inbetween, I've always gone stiffer, especially with a slightly agressive cam. BTW, the 7595s are a .340 spine and 8.9 gpi if I'm no mistaken.
Give us some details about your setup. The Z7 is a pretty mild cam. If you're shooting an arrow 28" or less out of a 65lb or less bow, I'd say the 5575 would be OK. However, if your weight is higher the 7595 would be a better choice. As said, its always better to be on the stiff side of spine rather than week, especially for broadheads.
ya...my set up now is 29" draw length 62 pounds draw weight and shoot an arrow under 29" right now...I shoot the mathews z7...I was actually thinking about lowering my draw weight to 60 pounds therefore i would know what arrow to get for sure..
Buy the 5575!, specifically if you are going to lower your draw weight to 60. If you are still uncertain, buy 3 of each and see which ones you like better. Being they are both "safe" to use I believe the most important thing will be getting your FOC correct. This is the very reason I went with the lighter arrow and a heavier broad head. That and I didn't like shooting that heavy of an arrow. The camo in the 7595 is 10.2 gr per inch. Disclaimer: I do believe Goldtip recommends the 7595 with a 125GR tip but it is just a recommendation.
I shoot a Mathews Z7 Extreme at 65 lbs, and I have Goldtip XT Hunters 7595, they group better than the 5575 out of my set up and my arrows are 28"
I think you'll be alright with the 5575 (400's) with the bow at 65lbs or lower, especially if you're using 100gr heads or points up front.
My last gold tip question?....what arrows should i buy the nugent arrows or the xt hunter arrows?...I like how the nugent arrows look but the straightness isnt as good as the xt hunters..any more advice would be helpful
