I tried two ways and they both work. Keep in mind this it for the end of the footing away from the broadhead. I used a small cord less dremil, I don't recall the exact bit but there are several that will work. I put the dremil in a vice, then I rotated the footing and made the bevel. This worked well enough. Then I got smart and realized reloading reamer would work even better....ya I am slow sometimes.
You could have saved me all the typing on my phone lol. That about sums it up more or less. It's really pretty simple and works great.
Need? No. You can just use the HIT c inserts and broadhead adapter rings if required. However your will wish you had an when you slam one into something you shouldn't have ...you will be wishing you has a footing rather then a now useless arrow...
When I was reading this thread it got me thinking how I could make some footings for my arrows. I shoot Carbon express arrows and they come with bulldog nock collars on the end, but I take them off when I put on lighted nocks. So I took one and put it on the other end then screwed my broadhead in and it seems to work just like a footing. It was a really snug fit, had to put some force down on work bench to get it to seat. Has anybody else tried this?
