What a great point. I graduated 2 years ago, and the older dudes were always the most fun to have in class. What's the worst that can happen?
Great points, just please lord don't be THAT guy who feels the whole class needs to hear his anecdotes and life experiences constantly throughout class. I loathe the people who constantly delay classes with stupid questions, or irrelevant stories. Save that for after class and don't make me regret the few times I do show up for lecture.
Adviser meeting went well. Have a few test I have to take before I can register but those should not be any problem. Also am scheduling a meeting with the program head to discuss my options. As for online versus in class I am well aware of the discipline needed. I would like to take a mix of both over the next few years. For this summer and to get started it will be online but after hanging out at the school this morning I don't have any worries about being in a classroom anymore! Thanks again for all the support everyone!!! Going to be an interesting few years for me!
Absolutely. There is no way I could do it. I have no idea how she helped run a business, give birth to a second child and go to school, all while maintaining a 4.0 gpa. She is extremely intelligent and a very hard worker. She doesn't see many of the same names in "class" now as she did when she first started.
After going to college for 2 years after high school....I went back at age 26 and graduated at age 29 The younger people I went to class with assumed I was around their age.
It will be all good Ferg. I went back when I was 35 and had my degree by 38. The key is that having the degree will open a lot more doors for you in the working world, a lot of companies are looking at bachelor degrees as a mandatory requirement. My company was able to work with a 4 year school to arrange our core BSM classes to be taught onsite so we could stay at work, this was beyond awesome. I also had 57 credit hours to complete outside of the core classes which was another story. I took online classes and classroom classes. The online courses were harder than the classroom courses. For two semesters I took 12 credit hours online and it was a lot of work while working full time. Make sure you don't overload yourself, especially the online courses. Looking forward to your graduation party
Because of what I am looking to study I will most likely be getting my Associates but I have a meeting with the department head next week to discuss it further. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
The issue that I would have is coming up with the income that I'd miss by being in class, not the feeling older thing. I'm wouldn't really be worried about a bunch of snot nosed kids. LOL>
I won't be missing out on any income since I will still be working full time. That's why my 2 year degree will probably take me 4-5 years since my class schedule will be so slim.
