That's just flat out hardcore right there. Not many imo realize the kind of work that kind of a hunt would involve.. unreal hunting and pix both! Thanks for sharing Rob.
Put a stair climber in a freezer and work out on it for 2 1/2 hours with a 30# pack on your back and you'd start to get an idea. It makes you real cautious about what side of the ridge you shoot something on and where it might end up. There's places up there that you just can't get out of, especially with a 120# pack load.
WOW, that is AWESOME..... do they have restrictions on legal size for billy's, etc? I'm thinking the pic you have on this site might be my new desktop for awhile. Congrat's Rob on a fine looking goat season!
The only regulatory restrictions are that you can't shoot a kid or a nanny with a kid. I'm only looking at shooting one goat for a half body mount so I'm looking for a billy with at least 9" horns (6+ y/o) and a full winter coat. Trophy hunting can be a ***** but the rewards are worth the investments.
dang ... that's some intimidating looking country right there. Great pics, but my favorite is the one that made the magazine cover, may have been in that album but I didn't see it. That one is simply jaw-dropping.
The fact that you are so consciencious of what gear you take and how much it weighs just tells the story of how extreme that terrain is. You have some beautiful country to hunt. Hardcore is the word that comes to mind when viewing your slideshow.
