I want to see both my sons get their first archery kills this year. My other goal is to kill a deer with my dads bow. I bought it for him several years ago and he never killed a deer with it. My goal is to kill a deer with it, then hang his bow up in the game room.

Same goal I had 40 years ago when I started bowhunting...... to have fun. That's it. I have no aspirations for the biggest or the baddest or the most. I've been there done that..... but every year my goal is just to enjoy and get out there and hear TWACK now and then. I have no trail cam pictures to pursue. I like to hunt the sign and be surprised at what shows up.

I want to go on a serious killing spree. 2 bucks, 1 doe, 1 elk, 1 loper, 1 lion. Working on a good bear now with the longbow.

    2010 goals...

Put down one of my hit list bucks in MO on film... (Sugar Daddy, Shorty, Captain Hook, or Sticker)
I had an encounter with Captain Hook last year that brought me to tears...oh so close...

Put down a big Iowa bruiser on my new place in Southern IA on film....

Lay down some killer footage of my hunting partner putting down a big MO buck on his place...

The mineral and the food plots are in...I've got a couple more trail cams to put out...then velvet footage and stand adjustments...COME ON FALL!

Good lord willing I will be able to get out when the weather is good and if that happens I would love to get my two sons on some deer(bow, x-bow, or firearm). I feel like I have some spots that we should at least get some good action so hopefully it will pan out. Beyond that I want to hunt with my dad a bunch and hopefully help him end his bow dryspell, but if not just hunting with him more will be cool. I have a couple of non hunting buddies that have expressed interest in getting their feet wet this year so I would love to get them out there.

As far as myself goes the above things would suffice but I wouldn't mind learning a little more about the properties I hunt as far as bucks go. I have been learning more and more each season and I feel like all of the notes on weather, dates, action seen, deer sign, hunter behavior, etc. have really been helping me out.

I feel super confident on two buck bedding areas that I have been learning the past 3 seasons and even though I haven't killed the big one(s) that are in there I have been seeing them so I feel like I'm on the brink of something good. But I don't want to become complacent either so I will try to use the same techniques (trail cams, aerials, year round scouting) on some other pieces of land that are being overlooked by many of the people hunting there. That way if/when other hunters hunt near or in some of my favorite areas I can switch to a back up area and still have confidence.

Gets some quality huntin' time in and be smarter than last year's hunts.

#1 objective is take my first "real buck". I've waited and passed up several
over the years for a good one. I just got to get my scouting in and find which
one I want and make it happen.

-Tag an Elk in CO while making friends with those attending from this site
-Enjoy many whitetail hunts with my Dad, and other family & friends...I get a big kick out of sharing my hunting grounds and especially helping others in their success.

Last season was my first with my bow. I came close to shooting my first deer a couple times, but I just didn't feel right about the shot. But this year.........
First goal - I want to take what I learned from the last season and get my first deer down.
Second goal - get a bigger deer than Isaiah :)

In short, shoot a lot of critters, some to fill the freezer, some to make me happy. And have most of them be with the bow.

I might try to kill an elk with a bow if I go.

I really want to shoot 1 of the 3 bucks I saw from stand last year. The smallest being a 170+ . Must make it happen this year.

Mike good luck with that baby girl.

I really want to get my son a good shot at a deer with his bow. I would like to close the deal on the buck that frustrated me so badly last year.

Also have fun and make it fun for my family.

To make the best of my available time this fall. Like last autumn I will not be spending half the time in the woods that I used to. I need to make each sit count, none wasted.
