Yep - he'd been gut shot at least a few days before we found him. He was pretty ripe smelling. Too bad, he was a nice buck! Next year I'm going to dye my 'stache so you can actually see it. Not only do I suck at deer hunting, now I suck at 'stache growing too.
dm does look like a porn star, well porn actor anyway. :D Shame on the dead buck. Is there nearby bordering properties that this buck made the water or poaching/trespassing? Kinda solidifies them going to water some.
The creek is very long and many properties border it. Before they found it the creek was extremely high from all the rain and was more like a river. Like Mike said in the video, that's the shallowest spot around and very likely that deer came from upstream somewhere and got caught in the rocks.

Maybe you should try and add a gotee next year and see how that works out for you? Personally I like the extra 'camo'....
