Just sick in every way... Isaac actually bought one of these, and were going to start using them in 2012 for our videos. Expect some hunting POV footage, as well as some firefighting vids...
I have both a GoPro and an Epic cam. I like the versatility of the mounts for the GoPro a little better, but the Epic's controls are easier to use, it takes AAA batteries (not a rechargeable), and seems to get better overall quality. Either way, when used properly you can get some really cool shots with any POV camera.
It does add a unique view to your hunting experience, something that im excited about. We havnt been filming for almost 2 years, but are looking to get back into the game again. About the POV stuff, i got some creative ideas
Isaac has one, and we have used it a few times for fire department training's and deer drives so far. Its pretty sick.
Thanks for posting this, we are looking for something that we can use for the Staff Journal next year for the lure company to get footage of tournaments and practice. This looks like it might be a good fit, I bet the footage will be awesome windshield mounted on my boat.
Really crazy you posted this. I just had a buddy ask me about these here at work. He wanted a camera he could use to film some POV hunting with his son as well as put on his dirtbike, so I referred him to it. I've since been watching more videos of it (loved it a year or so ago when I stumbled on it) recently (I was actually watching that hunting video you posted before I checked your post), and my wife just said the other evening she was going to get it for me for Christmas, but since I guessed what it was she doesn't want to:D I'm definitely going to be picking one in the near future. The hero 2's are solid, and I can't wait for the wireless controls to become available. I think I'll try this on my bow facing me with my Droid mount facing away. Should be pretty interesting. Planning on using it for some water skiing, winter skiing, and maybe some snowmobiling this winter.
I've used one off and on for the past 2 years. Great camera to get angles you could only dream of otherwise. A really cool way to mount one is out among your turkey decoys in the spring, or opposite your quiver mounted to your riser facing back at you. Great for getting time lapses such as driving down the road too as you can literally just suction it to the hood and not worry about windshield glare.
