Sound to me like you have some cheap d loop cord. I guessing you may have bought what comes pre-packaged at the shop or a box store. The shop may have it in bulk. Get yourself some bcy #24, tie it in and stretch it with a pair of needlenose. I promise it will "grip" your serving alot better.

I'd be hesitant to add glue because it would also adhere your string and servings together and IMO create a weak spot in the string. (Wouldn't it?)

It's a band-aid for a problem that exists with your string or loop. You can glue it, but the glue may react poorly with your string.

Your best bet is to have someone check the center serving, and then check the loop itself. If the serving isn't really tight and in good condition, you don't have a good base for your loop to seat on. This can cause a great loop tied out of great material to be inconsistent and turn. In addition to the serving, poorly tied loops, or loops made out of less than ideal material can do the same thing. I snug my loops with needle nose pliers and if using quality material, they are pretty rock solid unless you really twist them hard with your fingers to align the peep. Usually if I do this, I tweak the loop one time and it holds for me. If not, I cut the loop and check the serving, then start over.

I will sometimes glue my loop, but I VERY rarely do it.

Like others have said, try getting some better loop material. Something I always do to mine is I will use string wax on it before I tie them on, it helps the loop "bite" into the serving. BCY makes some great loop material.

Don't use glue!!! Get some good quality loop material. I use BCY 2mm 0.80" DIA. Tie it on with one hitch facing one way and the other hitch facing the opposite way. Make it on the small side and stretch it out like mentioned above. Mine has never slipped since I have done this and it stays straight. Give me a yell if you have any questions.

    Hope this picture helps...

By having your half hitch knots facing opposite ways it keeps the loop from going to one side or the other.

I agree with everyone else. No glue, better material.
