I wear wool knit gloves. They don't have any kind of rubber dots are anything on them. I don't want anything to torque the bow. I have the tip of the index finger and thumb cut off my right hand so I can still text if I want or eat chips. I wear them every time I shoot.
Don't wear them for anything but warmth...i.e. Not worried about scent or camouflage of the hands. Do I prefer to shoot without them? Absolutely, but when it's cold it's cold. I want to already be holding my bow...handwarmers and such don't allow for that. When It's real cold, I have a liner on inside of glove and if time/situation allows, I will pull off outer glove before shooting. If you guys are hunting in cold weather gloveless, you are much tougher than me.
I wear Manzella gloves in the early season. I have some gloves I wear for cold weather temps. Buying a hand muff this year too.
I'll wear one on my left bow hand and keep my right in my pocket. When it gets really cold, I have a Gerbing full body 12V electric heated suit with gloves. I'll wear the left hand glove and keep my right in my heated pocket. I rigged up a 12v gel cell battery to carry in my pack and last year I got 10 hours out of it and it was still going when I recharged it. Yes, I'm a baby when it comes to cold weather, my hands just won't function cold so when I get cold I'm done hunting.
I use gloves also...early to fend of the Mosquitos, and fingerless mitten type for later in the season. Minnesota has a wide range of temps from the start to the end of bow season.
I like a light pair of gloves in the fall, and then either Glommits (great invention), or light gloves and my muff with an army of handwarmers inside. I splurged last year and bought myself a very nice insulated windproof pouch that just buckles around my waist. I throw a couple handwarmers in there and always have a bunch of handwarmers in my pack as well just in case. I still go hunting when the temperature is in single digits, so you have to get a little creative at times. I know I will get out of the stand if my hands or feet get too cold so I make sure that doesn't happen.
And as someone mentioned, I'll wear a heavier glove/glommit on my bow hand (out, holding the bow in my lap) and a light glove on my release hand (in a pocket) during late season.
I wear gloves that I got at home depot for $3 for three pairs. I love them I can still feal every thing and they work on my phone.
I always wear a light pair. Towards the end of the season I add a hand muff that I keep both hands in with a hand warmer or two.
It just depends on the season. Early season, mosquito's still out, I'll wear a thin pair of glove to keep them off. Decent weather, no bugs I'll go without. Below about 30 degrees, I'll wear the thin gloves and keep them in my handwarmer or pockets. Below 10 degrees, I'll wear the thin gloves with a heavier pair of gloves over them that I can pull off before I grab my bow. Biggest drawback for me is operating the camera with gloves on, and messing with my cell phone.
I use 2 to 3 pair of gloves on every hunt. I have a bunch of jersey gloves I wash with my camo. I wear a pair of them going to and from the stand. Once in stand, I put them away and put my hunting gloves on. These cannot be the same pair. Many time, by the time I get into stand, the ones I came in with are wet or frozen. I dont change my routine for early season. I typically don't wear very heavy gloves. Also, they are all short, so my wrist strap on my release doesn't change. When it gets cold I just put hand warmers in my jacket pockets.
I don't wear any early season but late I got a pretty thick pair that it has the magnet top on it so if I get on my phone or anything ill just put the top of the glove off my fingers and then put it back on when im done.
I wear a light pair year round while hunting. Like the rest I have a few other ways of keeping them warm in cooler weather.
I'm a muff kinda guy also! I do wear Under Armour liner cloths in/out of woods and when gun hunting. Once I am in the tree bowhunting when it is cold out though my bare hands are buried into my muff. I have yet to place any Hot Hands in them though.
