Got myself all hyped up and had a speech to solve things professionally, called to make sure he was there, he was. Went in, between driving there and getting ready, he had taken off early = \ Im pretty sure he'll comp me range time if im unsatisfied or feel cheated. Then I also went to get my weapon duracoated at a different location, turns out they dont have OD green or any tan colors = \ So homework it is, thinking about picking up a G19 though.

Just picked my new toy up this evening. Have a crimson trace laser, crossbreed super tuck, 1,000 rounds and a couple pearce grip extensions on the way. Hoping everything will be here before the weekend.

What is that, about $1000 you just spent?

You going to get your gun duracoated to a different color?

How much was the laser? Im debating on flashlight or laser. I was actually thinking about picking up the XDS or S&W Shield for the single stack and lighter weight. Turns out XDS is 22, Glock is 21.9, S&W is 19, so I dont think the slimmer profile cuts it for me to buy another one. I simply can't imagine this thing on my back bouncing up and down though. I think im going to try this holster

    https://www.n82tactical.com/holster-options

seems like its good in concept and it's received good reviews. I should be trying it out tomorrow if the place im going to has it in stock.

    Why would they work better?
I think you bought exactly the right pistol. Unless you're dead set on getting a G19 for the rail, you have no real reason to buy another one. The G26 can use 19 (or even larger) 9mm mags with no issues. Even so, there are several glocksmiths out there who will cut a light rail into your G26 frame (no issues with structural integrity) for about a hundred bucks.

I believe, and I've been carrying Glocks for nearly a decade, the G26 pistol is the best all-around CC pistol in the world. As to the generational debate, I've literally put 15k+ rounds thru a Gen 3 G19 (used when I got it) with ZERO malfunctions. I've put about 3k thru a Gen 4 17 with no hiccups once I put about 100 thru it and gave it a cleaning.

Those guns are slimmer, but I didnt purchase one because I didnt like the way slimness felt. But when I think about it, id simply be putting the gun straight up to the dog to not endanger myself, my dog, or nearby people so accuracy wouldn't need to be so accurate.

I definitely agree, I love the G26, it fits my hand perfectly, I think the G19 is a bit fatter at the grip no? I was thinking about picking a G19 up for the rail system along with having one duracoated tan/coyote brown, and another OD Green. Also ive got to say im able to palm the G26 well, I dont think the G19 I was as comfortable.

Wouldn't the cost of having a glocksmith cutting a light rail not be as cost effective as owning two guns? As in, wouldn't it be better to have a G26 for CCW, and then a G19 as a home defense with light/laser? Than having just one gun and having the light put on?

My thoughts on this, and take it for what it's worth.

Depending on his shop size his cost on guns can be much higher than bigger stores. Whether that is directly through Glock or not. I know my cost is quite a bit lower than what he gave you for a price.

I'm not sure what it takes to become a blue ribbon dealer. But, this guy did give you a discount when he had absolutely no obligation to do so. Be appreciative of that, no need to make a stink over anything.

Based on his original price, he gave you an incredible buy. Better than most people would.

Thanks for your thoughts I've thought of this too and done tons of research. He is most likely a glock dealer and not distributor, which means he buys his glock off a glock distributor thereby probably buys them at a higher price. The thing that irks me about how this went down is that he acted like he was a blue label dealer. He is not, and it's been confirmed by glock, he tried to lead me to believe that some of his glocks were blue label, when in fact none are. As the program applies to all glocks and a business would know right off if they participated in the program or not.

I can also understand higher prices with us being out in the middle of nowhere, the thing that irks me is that he quoted a wrong blue label price off of I don't know what, and I took it in good faith even though everything told me that wasn't the truth. If he had up front told me that he was not blue label and the lowest price he could go was 529, I probably would not have bought it knowing that I could get it 130 cheaper elsewhere. Or I would have negotiated extra hours into the range to make up for the difference.

I don't believe he knows what a true blue label is as he had great customer service and was looking at the computer screen for the "blue label" price so whatever his company was feeding him, he was buying into it knowingly or unknowingly. That's why I don't feel anger in as much as irritable or annoyance as I don't think he purposely mislead me. Though his "blue label" comments are a bit shady. (I know I'm contradicting myself alot, but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt).

I don't like being told the wrong information and acting on it, part of it lies on me for not listening to my gut, but part of it is on the business for working in the Grey area. I'll pay more for things I want now and will only have myself to kick, but when someone has tricked me into paying more, that's something I can't stand.

Anyways sorry for the rant. But if he can't make things right, I'll talk to his manager about and let him know the assumptions I had when I bought the glock. If his manager sticks by him, then hey I'll use up my range card, and ride off into the sunset. But I'll definitely warn those I know who may be visiting there to be wise and buy elsewhere. Even if I turn away one customer, that will have negated the difference between the glock I bought from them and the blue label price, it'll be up to them to gamble it over a few range hours if they choose.

However, I don't see it going down this route, and see only positive outcomes.

You bought the gun....you shouldve known the blue label dealers before you walked in if that's the program you wanted to use....easy enough to figure that out...he also never said to you that he specifically was offering a blue label price on his gun....he threw up a wrong price on what a blue label price may have been and then told you what he would do to help add value to his product...maybe he received bad info that he thought was correct....obviously he was wrong on price but he's not a blue label dealer so why would he know.... other than quoting you the wrong price for a program he doesnt offer he did nothing wrong.....could very well be a simple mistake from the way you decribe his demeanor....he owes you nothing.....you pulled out the wallet and paid his price....buyers remorse is not his fault

Hey, far be it from me to dissuade any law abiding citizen from buying more guns, but there is no "need" for it in your case. $100-150 to get a rail cut into your 26 is way cheaper than a new/used 19. Just keep the light/laser combo next to your bed, then at night, just slide it on before you got to bed. Take the light off before you tuck it in your britches.

To my knowledge, the 26 grip is exact "fatness" (assuming you meant width) as a 19, just the 19's grip is a bit longer

Actually if a dealer leads the customer on that he could be a blur label dealer and purposely states a wrong price I definitely have a reason to be upset. No he never stated that he was a blue label dealer but he did say he would check to see of his guns were blue label. Deceptive marketing, as he was not a blue label dealer to begin with, what is that bait and switch? He made an honest mistake or dishonest pricing, he owes it to me to make it right. Definitely not buyers remorse as I like my gun. I don't like the terms which we bought it under as it was under false pretenses.

It's like when the Kardashians claimed to support the typhoon victims and send proceeds from their sale to the victims. A measly 5% when others were sending 100%. Truthful? Yes. Deceptive? Just a bit, using that media hype to make more money. It's like those furniture or car dealerships or cash places that claim to be military friendly but rip people off, they use those terms to get people into their business.

You're telling me if you walk into a reputable place and you're pretty sure you know the blue label price is, but the reputable store quotes a different price and you make a deal on it whereupon you find out later it was wrongly quoted that you would be fine? Please. I trust the business and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I obviously should not have.

I'll admit I was an idiot for believing them. And as of now I font want to do business with them. Hence why I am giving them the chance to make me feel satisfied and be a return customer. Wouldn't you want that out of a customer if you owned a business? I would.

They owe it to me to make it right if they want my future business and my word of mouth. But no, they don't need to make it right, I signed the receipt.

    You are full of contradictions....

1- he didnt lead you to beleive he was blue label.....you state he said the gun was NOT blue label pricing....if he's doesn't offer blue label on the gun why would you take his word on blue label pricing...even if he intentionally knew he was quoting the wrong price....which I doubt....you made the final decision....if you thought he was high on price you walk out the door and do some more research.....don't buy the damn thing and then complain about his pricing....shady or not you made the decision....noones fault but ure own

2- buyers remorse on the price not the gun....you know you could have bought it for less money if you waited yet you whipped out ure wallet and paid to get the gun you wanted right now...now you want some sort of "wrong" righted....when in fact....there is no wrong

Good luck chasing your tail bud.....you're a customer I'd tell to hit the bricks because you don't make any sense

Pretty much, paid 180 for the laser. I'm not going to spend any more on it at this point, still have to do the classes and app fee here in IL, that's another 350-400.

Probably didn't need the laser, but lasers are cool and Chicago hates them.

What didn't I read correctly.....you said in your first rant that you asked if he did blue label pricing....he said no but would get you as close as he could....he gave a discount with a bonus that you agreed to.....you never had to agree to that deal as you even said that you knew you had read the blue label pricing was different. ...end of story....walk out and don't lay your money on the table if you thought it was a bad deal...you also said all in all you are happy to pay a little more for the convenience of the whole situation...yet now your bashing him when you could have stopped the deal in its tracks until you knew for sure what the whole pricing structure was

and I'll post when and where I want....thanks

That wouldn't be bad for home defense, but buying online and not physically seeing it I went with the crimson trace as it integrates pretty seamlessly with the frame of the gun and has a combination specific holster molded for it. For CC I don't want to get overly bulky.

I'm not sure how good of a deal I could have got on it. Put in a make offer price on buds gun shop site and the 179 was accepted first try. Wasn't sure how that worked but trying on other items it looks like you get 4 attempts at making an offer per item. Wish I'd have researched it a bit more and started lower.

I hear you...wasn't criticizing your choice, just pointing out the OP that with the streamlight combo you can have your cake and eat it too, as least as far as home defense goes. As you point out, the streamlight is not very conducive to CC. A little bulky.
