Crimson trace is really the only viable option.
Reason why is simply the activation, it doesn't require you to flip a switch/ toggle or reach for a button.
It's right there and completely operated by the firing hand.
They're pretty durable and pretty pricey but worth it if you want a laser.

Might I ask why do you desire a laser? Many times laser application is something many people desire to do or purchase at the range/gun shop I work part time at...the sad truth is though as our trainer explains, they create bad form habits. A lot, actually a MAJOR part of accurate shooting is stance and grip...both of which suffer when one ignores them and just worries about where the laser is pointed.

I am not saying a laser isn't a viable and justified attachment, I've considered getting one for my G19 as well...but I keep holding off due to simply more practice and training of form makes the laser application not needed in my personal case (may not be the same for you though).

Can't see the sights in the dark soooo it's either night sights or a laser and I'd rather not woorry about finding my sights at night so I would just point a laser

Heinie, Novak , XS big dot and trijicon.
My personal preference is for a subdued rear , second a rear sight with inserts a different color than the front.
Whichever you get , don't get a ramped rear sight get one with at least a 90° angle in relationship to the slide.

trijicon hd night sights. If you need use a flashlight at night. No need for mounted light or laser.

Just learn to shoot on instinct and you won't need night sights or lasers. Lasers or night sights don't illuminate your target so if you can't see your sights.. You can't see your target. A light would be a better option.

People bash laser sights a lot with the same reasoning repeated over and over (some found here). I'm not saying it's not valid criticism or that it's MUCH better to shoot properly with good mechanics and all that but reality is often much different.

We live in the middle of the woods and my wife is home alone in a big house often enough for me to be SURE she can defend herself in a nightmare scenario. There is no where in our home she could get trapped without access to a firearm. I have stood side by side with her and fired thousands of rounds so I know her ability. She can work the mechanics of every gun we have and load/reload without issue.

Having said all that I make SURE she has access to a laser sighted gun (we have 3) because I don't kid myself into thinking my wife will be this calm cool character if someone is in our home at 3 am trying to hurt her. She will be scared senseless and when people are scared they THINK they are doing something but they aren't. I've seen way to many seasoned hunters who can shoot clovers out to 200 yards gag on a target as big as a deer because they got nervous to think anyone who's life is truely in danger would be able to concentrate on open sights in the dark when woken from a sound sleep into a deadly situation.

With a laser you can watch your target and not have to worry about what the gun is doing. If the dot is on target the gun is pointed well enough to do the job. I have tried to miss to the point of absurdity at the range pointing the laser in every silly way I could imagine.............and all I can say is at 5-10 yards you DO NOT want to be on the business end of a shiney red dot coming from one of our hanguns.

I know guys don't like them because they don't want it to take the place of good form etc but the fact is that they work and if my wife's life depended on it she couldn't hit 1" at 100 yards with open sights under stress but give her my Savage topped with my VX-R and she will tear the X out all day.

I know guys hate the "just point the dot and pull the trigger" dumbing down of things but in my experience with my Crimson Trace grips that's really all you have to do to be more then deadly accurate at close range.

Don't forget the power of sights and sounds either........some bad guys will book if they hear I HAVE A GUN!!!........almost all will book if they hear a 12 gauge chamber a shell........and any combo of the above with the added visual of a laser cutting through a dark house will most likely filling their diaper as they run.

The laser sights I have work phenomenally well........and yes I agree it's better to shoot properly but the second does not negate the first.

I just put the Truglow TFX's on my gun. They are a combination of trijicon and fiber optic. They work really well day or night.
