:d We still have 18" of ice on the lake, that's up from 12" two weeks ago. I don't think we'll have open water for opener this year. Ice came off May 7th last year and we are well behind that...

    Good scoutin' weather though:cool:

it's not so much global warming as it is climate change, which, by the way, still really sucks

Somehow, I have doubts that a glacier melting will have much of an effect on me in southern IL. :D

Most people do not realize that the abnormally cold weather actually supports global warming...

Also, claiming that global warming does not exist b/c of a late cold spell is just as ignorant as saying global warming exists b/c it's 80 degrees in January.

BTW, I do not believe in man made global warming.

When peeps say that GW doesn't exhist, they mostly mean the way the media/Gore make it out to be ... man caused ... so we are in COMPLETE agreement if you look at my 1st post on this....

BTW, Hooker .......change that avatar ...it makes me sing, "Jesus loves me" to clear my head whenever I see it :d

Exactly ..... that's why a man's timeline makes me laugh ... carbon dating is a joke ... they find a piece of rock dated to millions of years ago, bust it open and find a piece of pottery dated to a few thousand years ago ......

    +1.

Hooker, You ever see an Inconvenient Truth? Quite a stretch on on some of the stuff he presented there huh? Of course, then again, it wouldn't have caused the uproar it did and people wouldn't be talking about it on a Hunting Forum had it been just a subtle message of "well guys, there might possibly be a chance that the earth's temperature is increasing." Maybe ol' Al is smarter than we give him credit for (maybe not)

You are so right. What they are effectively doing, is like trying to predict a baseball players career batting average based on less than one pitch. It simply cannot be done.

Also, even IF there is actually climate change, why do we all think that it is bad? Let's just say that it is actually getting warmer (there is as much data against this theory as for it, but just for arguments sake). As certain ice plates, glaciers, etc melt, they are discovering plants that have been frozen in the ice for thousands of years. Do you think those plants grew in the ice? Obviously, the planet was much warmer before. So who cares. Life changes, species evolve or go extinct. Welcome to planet earth everybody!!!!

We are all adapting, all the time. Some will survive, some won't. We can't stop floods just because we like to live on the river, and we can't stop earthquakes because we live on the west coast. Humans like things to stay the same cause its easier, but that's not how it works.

I for one am glad the dinosaurs are extinct. Those things are freaky!

ps. I was just saying that we still have a lot of ice:cool: , I didn't mean to get everyone all fired up:evil:

What draw weight would you recommend for a T-rex? Where do you aim? I would have to completely rethink how I place trail cameras... and my stand height...
