Question guys. I have just recently purchased a Glendel buck target and when I shoot it, the insert starts moving back to the point that it would probably fall out if I shot enough arrows. Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do to fix it?

Mine was moving like that quite a bit and I kept having to fix it. A wind storm blew it around enough a few months ago and broke the top piece that pins in so now I've got duct tape all around it from neck to backside and holds good. I can't say I didn't get my money's worth out of the target, but there's some weak points that sure could use some improvements to last longer/better

Mine was doing the same until the top piece broke. Like Turro I had to fix the target, but used a ratchet strap from stem to sturn with no issues. The only issue would be hitting the ratchet with an errant shot. I will have to modify mine again using duct tape to eliminate this risk.

I wish I never bought mine but to fix the problem you have put a couple long screws in it from the bottom, it should help some.

I love mine. I have used it for a few years. I have never had a problem with the insert, but I can see how that could easily happen. I would get some small dowel from the local lumberyard or hardware store and poke it through the body into the insert to hold it in place. A wooden dowel wouldn't mess up your arrow if you happen to hit it.

Also, I poke a few white golf tees into the insert so I can spread out the damage and also because I like the small target they provide. This week was the first time I shot since April. I also got a bear target to practice for my upcoming hunt in Ontario. The 3D targets add a lot of fun to shooting for me. The blocks have gotten so expensive that you can buy a 3D target for not that much more.

Do you have the wooden rods in to hold it in place?

    Mine came with dowel rods

Mine came with plastic tubes to hold the insert in place. Even my hubby's 85 ft lbs of energy bow didn't knock the insert out of place.

However, pushing the whole target around with the tractor broke the legs off in short order. ;)
