I am nearsighted so I wear glasses when looking at things far away. But when I shoot my bow as my head tilts to the side to align my peep and my nose touches the string I find myself looking over the top of my glasses.
This is not a problem at close distances (20 yards and in) but at longer distance I sometimes have a problem seeing the target clearly and that throws off my shot.
Does anyone have this same problem or a solution?
    Thanks in advance

    Mack

Your tilting your head too far forward to touch your nose to the string, probably a short ATA bow. Put a kisser button [large] on the string and use it to touch your nose to. It will keep your head more upright.

I have been shooting bows for about 35 or more years. I started wearing glasses and I have the same problem. I look near my nose and for me to turn my head more messes with the form that I naturally have aquired over my time. I don't use them for shooting my bow. Even though the sights aren't as clear as they once were. Sucks gettin' old!!

    Thanks for the replys guys.
Big John, I am shooting a Mathews FX with a 28.5" draw so it don't feel like I am tilting my head forward but could be so. Would you put the kisser button about halfway between the peep and the arrow?

Wvarcher, yep 64 years old and finding new creaks and pops everyday, but not bad when you consider the alternative.

My kisser is 2 3/4 in from my noc. Put it on so you can slide it up and down, then draw your bow and adjust it so it's comfortable, then cinch it. The tip of your nose will be about 1/2 in from the string, keeping your head a little more upright than if it's touching the string. The shorter bows get, the more acute the string angle is, this helps those of us who use the tip of their nose as a location point.

You might want to check into a verifier lens for your peep. I used to shoot (3D) with glasses....and the verifier made all the diff. in the world. I could focus on the target and the pin was clear, still, in my peripheral.

I think the Co. that makes them is called SAP. My corrective lenses aren't too strong, and the weakest verifier (I think it's purple) was great.

Knight, I actually splurged and bought a pair of oakley sunglass frames with clear perscription lenses in them..about 300. I had to do something due to the same problem and difficultly with over the counter glasses. They fit your face pretty well and it helped me. Not cheap, but definitely worth it to me. GMMATs may be cheaper, but you might want to look into them. I think I got the half jackets. Best of luck.

Have you ever thought about contact lenses? Then you don't have to worry about anything.

I look to the inside toward my nose when shooting. I don't seem to have any issue with it and I have really small glasses. Just the way I shoot I guess. I thought I might have to use my contacts to hunt, which would have it's benefits, but glasses are clearer and don't dry out.. lol

For me contacts were better than glasses. (no fogging!)

But by the end of the day, the were so uncomfortable. (and out the woods I'm not able to take them out, I have a hard enough time when I'm standing in front of a mirror in the bathroom)

I just quit wearing glasses or contacts. At 20 yards I can still tell the difference between a deer and a person so it's been working out. ;) LOL.

Not an option for everyone, I know.

Thanks for all of the replys. I thought about contacts but I wear bi-focals and haven't found contacts that work both ways. I have raised my peep a little and have changed by anchor a tad also. This seems to help alot with the problem, now all I have to do is get comfortable with the new anchor and maybe all will be OK. Again thanks for all of the replys and suggestions.
