My camera is 76 miles from where I live. Im kind of glad so I wont tend to over check it. I did a "predator setup" on Jan 6. I buried a five gallon bucket of scrap meat in front of the camera. Should be interesting. I never got a yote on camera so Im thinking this is a good way to try.

How far do you have to go to check your cams .
How long do you let them set before you check them? What's the longest set you ever did?

My cams are from 15' to 3 miles away. A month is about as long as I've left one out, maybe 5 weeks. I've gone as little as under 24 hrs. All depends on the set, the location, my intended target and my route through the woods.

Mine are about 90 miles away. I check them once a week during hunting season when I'm there and sometimes 1-2 months when it isn't hunting season.

60-70 miles. i will check them once every 2-4 depending on what i got going on. i have let them set for over a month before. i enjoy checking them and getting out there to let them sit for months at a time. it will be more difficult for us to check all of the cameras in one day this year though if we do itll be a full days effort. we have to drive to various pieces and some places you need the ATVs... and we like to ride them so they get used at most places, but we have to load and unload.

when summer gets here it might change a bit. like last year, The flies were so bad last year you couldnt hardly be outside, flies and heat dont mix well. if the same occurs ill likely check half on one trip the other half on a another trip.

I know what your talking about with the flies. I know some people call them mayflies but I dont know if thats correct. They bite and are annoying as heck. They seem to be bad in southern and eastern Virginia. In Buckingham county they are not that bad.

My cams are only 15 miles away. I'll pull cards if I'm out there hunting and check them every 2-4 weeks the rest of the year.

I'm a couple miles away from my cams and check them approximately every two weeks. Some cams I might check whenever I'm close to them doing something else on the farm. During deer season the cams get checked whenever I happen to pass by them. I've gone as long as three months on cams that aren't setup for deer during deer season, I consider them low priority that time of year.

Mayflies don't bite so I'm sure they are some other kind of fly. I use imitation mayflies for trout fishing and they work great!

I travel 100 to 125 miles to check my cameras but don't run them during the season as they are all on public land and won't likely last long if I leave them out. I will put them out again soon to see what made it through the season. I use Coverts and the battery life has been really good so I don't have to check them very often. Right now I have three set up on my back yard trying to get some bird pics. :D

My cameras are on my parent's property 5 minutes from my home. I can make the rounds and be back home in less than an hour. I check usually ever 1-2 weeks during this time of year, then start to back off as spring/summer approach. Once the season hits, I will check cams usually when I'm entering or exiting.

Our family farm is about a 30 minute drive for me, but I'm out visiting my parents quite a bit.

All my cams are setup so I can ride an ATV right up to them. I've checked them after a day at times and left them out for 6 weeks over the winter.

Right now they are purely running inventory for me. I'm not as interested in what deer is doing what each day like I would be if I was trying to kill one. Just seeing what is out there, and when the antlers start to drop.

My cams (when they're out) are only 10 miles away. Not so bad.

Our cams are about 15 miles away. We tend to check them once every 1-2 weeks depending. They are pulled now. We'll put them back in when turkey season gets a little closer.

Most of mine are walking distance, less than a mile. I check them either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how busy i am.

Mine are roughly a mile away.

Last year was the first year I had a trail camera and I checked it about once a week... I have since purchased two more and will be checking them every 2 weeks this year.
