This weekend I had the opportunity to work in Bowtech's Archery Experience Trailer with Hans Saunders. Read about my experience in my latest blog entry. http://www.bowhunting.com/blog/post/2009/03/29/Giving-back-to-Archery-a-Rewarding-Experience.aspx It was a real pleasure to work the trailer this weekend, and I hope it is not my last opportunity. Giving back to this sport is becoming a new way of life for me. And I am really enjoying it.
Nice! You're a good guy. You should come over and help us in Grafton, IL with our kids archery station. 1500 kids! (little bitty kids too)
When is it?? That's about 30 minutes from home and 15 minutes from my farm. Give me a hollar and I'll se what I can do.
Excellent read, John. Looks like ya'll had a good time! But uh.......Good thing it's dry in that trailer, huh? LOL
John, it's June 6th at Pere Marquette State Park. It's a fishing fair so our station is 'bowfishing'. We have little bows that the kids shoot rubber tipped blunts at battery powered fish swimming in stock tanks. Then we also have some mathews genesis bows that the kids shoot regular arrows at foam fish. (some kids bowtechs would work good too.. hint.. hint) It's from 8am to 4pm. It goes by fast. (and we try to have enough people that we can take breaks.) Anyhow, didn't mean to hijack your thread but if you can make it, it would be great to see you. (and we can go shoot fish after the show) :D
Very, very nice John. I've worked many, many booths/events through the year and I never tire helping others and my favorite is helping kids. When I work a call booth, nothing puts a smile on my face more than helping a child make a turkey call work. The look when their eyes light up and the smile that comes from both child and parent is all I need. I have not seen the interactive trailer yet myself and I look forward to it. Congratulations John and thank you for sharing that with us.
Thats awesome John! Good to see there are some stand up fellas still around! Im thinking about making a trip out 'west' next year to hit the show circut and to meet some of you folks, should be a good time!
Your a good man John!! Bowtech picked the right guy to represent them. Your a posative guy and that reflects leadership!! awesome, just awesome!!
Yep, the weather did kinda suck. But at least it was dry in the trailer. They had to pull plenty of folks out of the parking lot with a tractor. The grass hillside got pretty slick and muddy Saturday. At least it was over before the snow got here!!
