Girlfriends first racked buck

    Well, we hunted some public land Saturday evening and we were apparently in the hotspot. I had been seeing some deer cross a logging road as I had been walking in to my spot. So I put her about 40 yards off the road where 2 major trails trails merged. I walked on down the ridge about 150 yards. About 530pm, I hear a loud commotion and then heard a loud death moan. I guess it was the deers last breath(not sure, never heard it before). Then the phone rings. Said she has a 6pt down. She was so pumped, she could hardly talk. She said there was her 6pt and a 4pt sparring and then they came right to her. She made a perfect 30 yard shot.
    About 30 minutes later, I had a doe ease off the ridge and feed down toward me and I smoked her. What an awesome evening. We pulled a double with a bow on public land. It doesnt get much better than that.
